A very special person and someone we are very sad to lose. It was an honour and a privilege to support this beautiful person and he will be dearly missed by the Braidwood community and by the Right at Home team β€οΈ
Vale Ken Thomas
St. Bede's Parish Braidwood reports:
It is with great sadness that we share the news that Ken Thomas passed away this morning in Braidwood, aged 84.
Ken was a much-loved parishioner, friend, and community member whose life was marked by service, generosity, and quiet faith. He devotedly cared for his first love Joan and Mother in law Phyllis at the end of their lives, as well as his beloved partner Jenny, whom he cared for with great love as she lives with dementia. His capacity to give of himself to those he loved was extraordinary.
Ken volunteered tirelessly across many organisations, including St Bede's Braidwood Parish, Braidwood Lions Club, Ryrie Park Markets, Braidwood Show Society, and numerous horse clubs and shows.
He will be fondly remembered for his caring nature, his willingness to help, and his affection for his friends.
Around a decade ago, Ken returned to his faith, which became deeply important to both he and Jenny and a source of strength and comfort in his later years.
Ken will be sorely missed by his family, friends, parish community, and the many groups he served so faithfully. We keep Jenny, his family and all who loved Ken in our prayers.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon him.
May he rest in peace.
