When you first felt yourself slipping, you started off by just pushing harder. Being more “disciplined”, digging up motivation from the next quick fix promise…

But eventually the exhaustion caught up with you again. You started compromising on choices that used to preserve your health & wellbeing. The extra glass of wine. The skipped workouts.

You feel like your health is slowly unraveling but you don’t have the brain space or energy to figure out what to do. After all, you’re not doing anything wrong, and surely you’re allowed to take it easy sometimes??!

This is why I work with women like you. You’re stuck in a place that you haven’t been before, & it’s my job to guide you back to yourself.

So let’s have a talk about it. Book a free Midlife Wellness Check In via Linktree & let’s rebalance, rebuild & reclaim your better self.

Feeling “old” when you know that you’re not, is frustrating and, honestly, a bit depressing.

So although it’s common to feel this way when you hit midlife like a brick wall, it’s not “normal”. It’s not inevitable, or something that you “just have to put up with”.

Even if your friends are all moaning about midlife, that doesn’t make it OK to feel exhausted, heavy and overwhelmed. Especially not when there are SO many things that can help you to feel clear, calm, and in control of your health again.

When I work with women in midlife, we’re all about trying to create the conditions to feel good again, without the expectation of reversing the clock. Frankly, I wouldn’t WANT to be 20 again!! But I’m enjoying being 50 in the body that I have - and I want that for you, too.

Get in touch if that sounds good to you.

I know I change lives, but I don’t often run into people years down the track after I’ve worked with them.

Today, when someone took the time to come up to me at the gym and say thank you for changing her life, I was filled with emotion.

She no longer feels fear. She trusts her body. She is strong, active, engaged with life again. And she has stayed that way by continuing to implement the work that we did together, and by believing in herself to do it.

She admitted that she’d been sceptical when she first met me - I was a physiotherapist but I “didn’t lay a finger on her”, after she’d spent thousands of dollars on scans, images, tests, and interventions.

But this is the very reason why I do the work that I do: because the health care system can only get you so far - the rest has to come from you.

It really made my day to see her today and to re-affirm why I continue this work. If only more women were as brave as her to take that first step, despite the scepticism, and change their lives. If you’re ready, book your free call through the link in my bio.

So yesterday, I did NOT go on my usual Sunday Funday Run with my friends. Let’s just say that a few late nights and a more-active-than-usual week were causing my body to demand a rest by Sunday morning.

But on Sunday afternoon, I decided to practice some of my new shuffle dancing moves. While still feeling a bit heavy and tired, I thought to myself: “I’ll just give it 5 minutes”.

5 minutes turned into 30, and I really enjoyed trying the “running man” (running mum, if you ask me) to a range of songs on my “running” playlist (the one that I only break open when I need that extra “umph” for motivation). Grateful, although not graceful, to be able to move my body unexpectedly.

When you aren’t tied to a “routine” for exercise, you have permission to listen to your body and adjust your plans for the day. When you work with me, you’ll learn that “listening to your body” never means doing nothing, even when you’re tired. Scale down instead of skipping your workout.

You never know when a burst of energy might hit you in the middle of “just 5 minutes” unless you start that 5 minutes. Everyday.

Need help with this? Then lets’ get talking. You can book a free call with me anytime through my Linktree.

When I was listening to an interview on the radio with a guy categorically dismissing the “self help” industry because he said it was promoting an unrealistic picture of needing to be “happy” all the time, it got my back up.

So while I did agree with a lot of what the guy was saying - that life has ups and downs, that misery is character building, and that we are actually more content in life if we DON’T expect to be happy all the time - I did have to disagree on one core thing: he was implying that by aspiring to improve our lives (aka “self help”), we were setting ourselves up for disappointment.

Personally, I believe that “self-help” INCLUDES adjusting our expectations of life to be able to go with the flow of ups and downs rather than always trying to “win”. I believe that we do have the power to improve the way we live our lives in tiny little ways (small shifts) that make things feel easier, lighter, calmer, and more content.

He said that people who have experienced misery are usually the most interesting people in the room. But I only agree with this if misery allows someone to see the light better, giving them the skill to recognise and express empathy and gratitude.

Otherwise, people who I would call “miserable” (because they identify themselves by their very misery) are people who I tend to avoid these days because they drain my energy. If misery is the only way that we can be interesting, I don’t aspire to being the most interesting person in the room!

What are your thoughts on this topic? I’d be interested to hear.

Hey there Canberran ladies! “Before the Pause - Perimenopause”, is a screening and conversation worth your time!

So many people (including a lot of GPs) still see “Menopause” as an older woman’s problem, where hot flushes and missed periods turn us into crazy psycho women for a year or two until things settle down again.

But LONG before the “obvious” signs of menopause, there can be years (and years) of other symptoms. Brain fog, irritability, low mood, lack of motivation, weight gain, poor sleep, energy crashes, aches and pains, anxiety and forgetfulness, to name a few. This is perimenopause - before “the pause”!

So whether you are struggling with symptoms yourself, or just Peri-Curious, come and learn what YOU need to know to stay empowered and on top of your health during life’s inevitable transition, and set yourself up for a healthy time in your wisdom years!

Coming very soon to the Palace Electric. Tickets available now. This is a not-for-profit event priced to cover costs. Bring a friend or ten. We’ll see you there!

You are more than capable of achieving a more comfortable size in your body, of getting fit again, of being content with the choices in your life. You can improve your ability to rest and to recover. To manage your stress and to sleep well.

I have seen many many women figure out this life balance on their own.

But most of the ones that I know have been FORCED to figure it out through YEARS AND YEARS of struggle. They have given up on things because they had no energy left to keep fighting. They have compromised relationships because they ran out of patience and couldn’t regulate their mood. Sometimes it has taken a medical scare to finally facilitate firm decision making and behavioural change when it came to consolidating healthy habits.

Most of these women went through their 40’s and 50’s without support. Support that IS now available. I’m not the only one that offers this support now, but I am someone that has a deeper tool box than most, having worked in the health industry for my whole adult life.

All it takes to get started is a simple chat. It’s even free to do that. So book a call today, and stop the struggle before it stops you.
