One of the amazing family's that we have the privilege of working with has designed blankets for wheelchairs and prams. They have a new website with the option to purchase your own blanket, or to fund a blanket for another child to receive.

There are many ways that children can communicate, and physiotherapy helps to optimise children's physical function so that they have the best chance of using their bodies in a meaningful way. Improvements in core stability, head control, upper limb strength, motor planning and hand eye coordination can all assist children to access communication devices, as well as objects in their environments that will help communicate their needs. We can liaise with your speech pathologist to maximise input in both areas.

Attending the Australian Physiotherapy Association 2017 conference this week. It is a great opportunity to hear recent research that individuals and institutions have published in a variety of areas of physiotherapy. I also got to try out some new equipment!
