Wow, 2026 already! Thank you to every client, family and supporter who made 2025 the great year that is was for Rhythm and Bloom Music Therapy.

Looking to the year we have ahead, let's remind ourselves that growth doesn’t happen all at once, but with one small moment at a time. 🌱👣

I hope that 2026 is filled with self-compassion, meaningful connections, and moments where music helps you pause, feel, express, and heal. 🎶

Thank you for being part of the Rhythm & Bloom community. Thank you for trusting me to be part of your journey. Your courage, creativity, and willingness to show up will continue to inspire!
I am so excited for another year of supporting wellbeing, creativity and confidence through music.

🌿 Wishing you a gentle, joyful start to the year.

As we approach the end of the year, I want to sincerely thank each of you for the trust, openness and commitment you’ve brought to our sessions. It has been a pleasure supporting your journey through music therapy and witnessing your growth throughout this year.

I am equally grateful for those who support Rhythm & Bloom Music Therapy in other ways; by engaging online, sharing posts, recommending the service, and cheering us on from afar. Your encouragement helps in many ways, but most importantly, it helps to reach even more people, and support them when they need it most.

Wishing you all a safe, joyful and restful holiday season. Thank you all again for allowing me to work with you and your families this year.

Music therapy supports life skills!

In music therapy, the strategies we explore don’t just stay in the room - they transfer into daily life, supporting emotional health and coping through life’s ups and downs. 💚

Here are a few examples of this:

✨ Keeping rhythm → builds grounding & self-regulation
✨ Singing & breath control → supports relaxation, grounding, and calming the nervous system
✨ Songwriting → encourages self-expression & making meaning
✨ Improvising → strengthens flexibility, problem-solving & helps us practice spontaneity
✨ Active listening → develops mindfulness & empathy

These musical skills become everyday tools for managing emotions, reducing stress, and nurturing mental health. 🎵

What other connections do you see between music therapy and the skills we use day to day?

✨ The things no one sees count too✨️

Not all progress is visible.
Not all growth is loud.
But that doesn't mean that it doesn't count!

Sometimes it’s the small, quiet steps that matter most!
▫️Getting out of bed when it's hard 🛌
▫️Sending that message that you were anxious about 💬
▫️Saying no when you needed to 🙅‍♀️
▫️Asking for help 🙏
▫️Cooking a meal 🍳
▫️Taking your medication 💊

These unseen efforts are the building blocks of lasting change and progress is progress no matter how big or small 🌱

In music therapy, progress can look like:

🎶 A participant quietly choosing a song that expresses what they can’t put into words
🎶 A steady breath while playing an instrument
🎶 A moment of eye contact or shared laughter
🎶 The courage it takes to show up, even on a hard day

These “invisible” steps often lay the foundation for growth and healing. Just because progress isn’t always visible doesn’t mean it isn’t powerful. 💛

Self-care isn’t all bubble baths and spa days (though those are great!), but it's also:

💬 Setting boundaries
😴 Getting enough rest
🥗 Nourishing your body
🎶 Making time for joy
🧘🏽‍♀️ Checking in with your mental and emotional health

At Rhythm and Bloom Music Therapy, we believe that self-care is a foundation, not a luxury. It supports your ability to show up—calm, clear, and connected.

Take a moment today to ask yourself:
"What do I need right now?"
Even the smallest act of kindness toward yourself counts.

You are worthy of the same care you offer to others. ❤️

What are some things you do as part of your self-care?

🌱 This is a gentle reminder to give yourself permission to fail 🌱

We often hold ourselves to impossible standards. But growth and healing don’t come from perfection — they come from trying, learning, and sometimes falling short.

✨ Give yourself permission to get it wrong.
✨ Give yourself permission to make mistakes.
✨ Give yourself permission to start again, and again... and again!

Failure isn’t the end — it’s part of how we learn what works, what doesn’t, and what we truly need.

Be kind to yourself when things don’t go to plan.

What’s one thing you’re proud of yourself for trying, even if it didn’t work out perfectly? Share below if you’d like — your courage might inspire someone else 🌻

🧠✨ Take Care of Your Brain ✨🧠

Your brain does so much for you — thinking, feeling, remembering, learning, imagining, and protecting you.

Give it some care in return:
🌿 Rest when you’re tired
💧 Drink enough water
🍓 Feed it nourishing food
🌙 Get good sleep
🚶‍♀️ Move your body
🤝 Stay connected
🌤️ Take breaks from screens
💛 Be kind to your thoughts

A healthy brain helps you be you — so take care of it like you’d care for a best friend.

🎶 Fun Fact Friday! 🎶
Did you know? Babies can recognise melodies as early as 25 weeks in the womb! 👶✨

Their tiny ears are already tuning in to voices and music — laying the foundations for connection, bonding, and early brain development. 👂🧠🫂

What songs would you play for your little one in the womb? They might find comfort in the same tunes earthside 💛🎵

Rest is not laziness and it is not something you earn. It is something you deserve.

Your body and mind need gentle pauses, slow mornings, early nights, and days when you do absolutely nothing productive. That’s not laziness — that’s being human. 🌙
You dont have to push through everything. You're allowed to stop and just be.

Be kind to yourself. Take the break. You don’t have to ‘deserve’ it — you already do. 💛
