On behalf of the family, it is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Beven, Jeong-Bok Kim (Kim Jeong-Bok) in New York on 12 May, following a sudden illness on Mother’s Day, Sunday, 10 May.

The family wishes to extend their most sincere appreciation to the emergency staff at New York-Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital and the neurosurgery team at Weill Cornell Medical Center for their dedicated care.

Family and friends are warmly invited to join us to honour and celebrate Kim’s life on Tuesday, 26 May.

The schedule for the afternoon will be:

1:30 pm – Funeral Service
St Christopher’s Cathedral, Manuka

3:00 pm – Interment
Gungahlin Cemetery

4:00 pm – Celebration of Kim’s Life
Margaret Whitlam Pavilion, National Arboretum

Honouring the Life of Kiev Lua Taiese Soanai 🕊️

On behalf of Kiev’s family, we invite relatives and friends to join together to remember his life and legacy.

A service to honour Kiev's memory will be held at Yarralumla Uniting Church on Thursday, 28 May 2026, commencing at 5.00 PM.

For those who are unable to attend the service in person, the family invites you to join them virtually. The service will be live-streamed so that family and friends near and far can be together in spirit.

🌼 Remembering Our Mothers Together 🌼

Last Saturday morning, Tobin Brothers Canberra had the absolute privilege of hosting our annual Mother’s Day Memorial. It was incredibly moving to welcome so many wonderful members of our local community as we came together to honour the incredible women who have shaped our lives.

During the service, attendees were invited to step forward and light a candle in loving memory of the mothers, grandmothers, and special women who are no longer with us. Guests also wrote heartfelt messages on memorial cards, which will be gently scattered in our beautiful rose garden. To conclude the morning, everyone was invited to take a flower home or place one on the grave of their loved one.

We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to those who helped make this morning so meaningful:
🧡Debbie Taylor from Taylored Celebrations for being such a gentle and beautiful celebrant.
🧡The team from Eat Your Words for providing the absolutely wonderful catering for our high tea afterwards.

Lifeline Canberra provides vital, life-saving crisis support services, and supporting their mission is a cause very close to our hearts. Seeing our logo on the big screen was a truly special moment for our team, reinforcing our ongoing commitment to supporting mental health and well-being in our region.

We were also delighted to bring a little extra sweetness to the evening by hosting the event's Lolly Bar, which was a wonderful, nostalgic hit with the guests! 🍬🍭

We work closely with local knitting groups and nursing homes to support our community. You can drop off donations at any of our ACT locations in Belconnen, Tuggeranong, or Kingston.
