🌟Happy International Nurses Day!! 🌟

Our CBPH nurses demonstrate extraordinary commitment, compassion and professionalism every day. The care you provide, the advocacy you show for patients and families, and the strength you bring to your work make a profound difference to the lives of those in your care and the teams you work alongside.

Your dedication does not go unnoticed. Whether at the bedside, in clinics, across supporting services, in leadership roles or behind the scenes, your skill and empathy are central to the high‑quality care we deliver at CBPH.

We also hope our nurses enjoyed the lolly stations set up to mark the occasion complete with some very on‑brand humour. From “stool samples” (Maltesers) to “thermometers” (lollypops), we hope it brought a smile and a well‑deserved sweet treat to your day.

Thank you for your hard work and the genuine care you bring to your roles. Today, we celebrate you and the invaluable contribution you make.

“At its heart, healthcare is not just about treatment; it’s about how people feel while they’re receiving their care. Patient accommodation services can ease the burden of distance in those important times.” – Sarah Black, General Manager at Calvary Bruce Private Hospital.

Today, we are proud to officially reopen
in Bruce, 30 years after its original construction.

Located on the Calvary Bruce Private Hospital campus, the Cottage provides comfortable, accessible accommodation for families needing to stay close while a loved one receives treatment.

First established through the efforts of the Rotary Club of Belconnen, the Cottage has supported families for decades, and this refurbishment ensures it will continue to do so for years to come.

Take a look inside. This refreshed space offers a welcoming environment designed to ease the stress of being away from home during a challenging time.

With thanks to Rotary Club of Belconnen and all of the incredible local businesses, volunteers and community participants who made this possible: https://ow.ly/p02n50YMn37

The transformation of Calvary Rotary Cottage is taking shape.

This project is a wonderful example of Calvary’s mission at work, bringing together partners and community to support families when they need it most.

Following the site clean-up, work is now focused on creating a more welcoming and comfortable outdoor space for families.

Located in Bruce, Calvary Rotary Cottage supports those staying close to loved ones receiving care at Calvary Bruce Private Hospital and surrounding health providers.

This stage of the project brings together the Rotary Club of Belconnen, ACT Government City and Environment Directorate Urban Treescapes, Bunnings Warehouse Australia Belconnen, and community services, who have contributed significant hands-on work, along with our amazing volunteers.

It’s been inspiring to see what can be achieved when community comes together with a shared purpose.

Thank you to everyone involved in bringing this space to life.

Refurbishment works are progressing at Calvary Rotary Cottage in Bruce.

Located at Calvary Bruce Private Hospital, the Cottage supports families travelling to Canberra to stay close to loved ones receiving care.

Trades are currently undertaking key upgrades, including electrical and air conditioning works, painting and bathroom improvements, with each stage moving the project closer to completion.

These improvements will help create a calm and welcoming environment where families can rest and unwind during what can be a challenging time.

This initiative is being led and coordinated by our Regional Community Engagement Manager, whose collaboration with local businesses and stakeholders has been central to progressing the project.

We acknowledge the contributions of local businesses including Modern Heating and Cooling, Enhanced Painting Services and Tile Rescue. Thank you to the Rotary Club of Belconnen and all the local businesses, volunteers and community participants who continue to support this project.

It’s all hands on deck at Rotary Cottage.

Located in Bruce, ACT, the Cottage provides accommodation for families needing to stay close to loved ones receiving treatment in hospitals across the ACT. Originally established with the support of the Rotary Club of Belconnen, it has supported families for decades and is now being prepared for its next chapter of care.

In it's 30th year, we are proudly reopening the doors after a temporary closure to enable a renovation funded and supported by Rotary, Calvary Health Care and other local partners and businesses.

A full site clean-up is underway, supported by Community Services Work Program participants, and their efforts are already making a real, visible impact while building skills and confidence.

For families going through a difficult time, having somewhere close and comfortable to stay can make all the difference. We’ll be sharing updates along the way as Rotary and community partners bring this important facility back to life.

Thank you to the Rotary Club of Belconnen and all the local businesses, volunteers and community participants who have supported this project. Follow along to see the full transformation! 💙

🎉 Two Big Celebrations in Theatre Today! 🎉
It’s been an exciting day in our Theatre Department, and we couldn’t wait to share the joy!
🎂 Happy 70th Birthday to Suellen Saals!
Today we celebrated a very special milestone for our much‑loved colleague, Suellen. The Theatre team surprised her with cake, balloons, and beautiful flowers. A small gesture to honour someone who brings so much heart, experience, and positivity to the team every day.
Please join us in wishing Sue a wonderful 70th birthday! 💐💛
💙 🍐Congratulations to Gail Innes, our first Blue Pear Award recipient!
We are delighted to announce that Gail has been awarded the very first Blue Pear Award at CBPH for the month of February.
These awards are a simple but meaningful way to acknowledge staff who make a positive difference through their everyday work. Whether it’s supporting colleagues, delivering outstanding patient care, or helping the hospital run smoothly behind the scenes.
Gail embodies all of these qualities, and we are incredibly proud of her dedication and kindness.
A huge congratulations to both Sue and Gail. We’re lucky to have such exceptional people on our team! 👏
