Evans & McMahon Optometrists We are an Australian owned optometry clinic in two convenient locations - Civic and Tuggeranong

Evans and McMahon are total-care optometrists, specialising in performing eye examinations, prescribing glasses and fitting contact lenses. In addition to examination of the eyes, we are trained to diagnose diseases of the eyes and refer to specialist medical care when indicated. Complete eyeglass services, including an in-office finishing lab, are available for the convenience of our patients. We

offer a large selection of frames and sunglasses as well as a full line of prescription lenses. All types of contact lenses including disposables and flexible wear lenses are dispensed. Many lenses are stocked in our offices for trial assessments and we welcome "hard to fit" patients. Emergency appointments are available every day for patients with urgent problems. If your eyes are red, sore or you have any sudden loss of vision, please contact us immediately.

Here at Evans & McMahon, we’re proud to stand alongside Eyecare Professionals, parents, & communities to shed light on this growing global heath issue.

Myopia, commonly known as nearsightedness or shortsightedness, is an eye condition that causes distant objects to appear blurry. People with myopia can often see clearly at close distances, but struggle to see things far away. This is because light entering the eye focuses in front of the retina instead of directly on it, as it should.
