Why I consider RESCUE REMEDY Spray (Bach Flower Remedies) as my first aid for emotional support.
As stress becoming more prominent in our daily life, I believe our body more than ever needs some safe and gentle ways to be supported on mental, physical and emotional levels.
Being a holistic practitioner, I came across a variety of such methods, and one of my favourites is a Rescue Remedy, created in 1930 by the English physician Edward Bach.
I love that it is a safe, gentle and effective tool that is readily available for anyone at many shops or pharmacies. It is not a magic pill, but the way to support our body to cope with stress more effectively.
In my daily life I use it when I feel stressed, tense or worried, to calm myself when I have some sad news, for any injury, before tooth extractions or any surgical procedures. For children it is a good support during tantrums, nightmares, when feeling fearful or anxious (eg tests, exams, competitions, social media pressures), injuries or bee stings. In the past I used it on my dog and cat to calm during illness or storms.
The spray form is my favourite option as it can be used either directly on the tongue or if preferred, sprayed on the inner part of either wrists, so to be readily absorbed by the skin, this would also be the best way for kids, as well as pets. Alternatively, it can be just sprayed in the air.
Rescue remedy has 5 remedies in the bottle (out of 38 plant and flower-based components). These are specifically designed as an emergency treatment to help people to cope with every day stressful situations, and to get calm and centred. Specifically, these 5 are for *terror and panic (Rock Rose), *irritability and impatience (Impatiens), *inattentiveness (Clematis), *shock (Star of Bethlehem), *to promote calmness and mental clarity (Cherry Plum).
I personally was so fascinated by these remedies I did a course, learning how to use all 38 of them.
I believe as more we are open to discover and try these types of safe holistic approaches, understanding that it is just a supporting tool to shift and improve our emotional states, as more resilient our body can become to manage emotional demands of life, especially during uncertain times.
