This season is all about fresh starts and new beginnings - whether or not you have a religious belief in Easter, the spirit still applies.

The symbolism of rising up again from the depths even when it seems impossible, of a better future coming from the sacrifices that have been made.

Whether in the form we expect or something completely different, life renews.

We all have the opportunity to reinvent a part of our life - large or small - to make better choices going forward.

It might be April Fool's Day, but it's no time to be foolish when it comes to prioritizing your mental and physical health.

Our health - good or bad - is still the most precious thing that we have. We owe it to ourselves to be the best we possibly can. Because the more we do, the easier our lives can be.

Even the smallest little things can make a difference, more than we realise. What small thing can you do today?

3 Common mistakes that I see my clients make when in comes to their health are:

1) Prioritising "quick fixes" over sustainable results:

In an effort to manage weight or health, women may rely on crash diets or detoxes that promise fast results. These approaches are often unsustainable and can lead to nutritional imbalances, metabolic slowdown, or frustration. Instead of focusing on short-term fixes, adopting balanced, long-term habits is more effective for maintaining health.

2) Prioritizing weight loss over health gain:

Many women place too much emphasis on weight loss, ignoring other important health metrics like improved strength, energy, and mental clarity. Shifting the focus to overall health and wellness, rather than just a number on the scale, can lead to more sustainable and fulfilling results.

3) Neglecting mental health and focusing only on the physical

Women may sometimes neglect mental health or self-care routines, assuming they should be focusing solely on physical health. However, mental well-being is just as important as physical health. Stress, anxiety, and depression can affect eating habits, exercise consistency, and overall lifestyle.

I help my clients to take a balanced, considered approach that is realistic, sustainable and takes into account all areas of their health

Helping people make the little changes is what I'm all about.

Because the big ones can be too daunting and too difficult to maintain. And the little ones all add up.

New research shows that even small tweaks to your diet and exercise routines can reduce the chance of premature death. There’s just one catch.

A reminder .... it's not all about the number on the scales.

Today is World Obesity Day. A day when we acknowledge the increasing percentage of our population that is experiencing overweight and the health effects that go along with it.

It's easy to blame and stigmatise people who are struggling for whatever reason. At the same time it's also easy to release all self responsibility and put it all back onto industry, genetics on environment.

Truth is, it's not that easy. There's a little bit of all sorts of things going on.

Ideal weight is different for everyone. It's a combination of factors that lead to a weight that is most supportive of our physical and mental health and that we are able to maintain within the parameters of our environment.

I work with women at the stage where they are, helping them set their own personal goals that are appropriate to their circumstances, and choose their own path to achieving them.

Putting my big girl pants on and launching a little course.

It's all about taking over a decade of training and experience - and finally getting the courage to use it to help others.

It's about doing a reset for 2025.

It's about re-evaluating and reinventing myself in the light of all that happened last year.

It's about believing that I have the ability to change both my own life and that of other people fir the better.

Who wants to come along for the ride?

Sunday reflections - ebbs and flows

The flow stops, the ebb comes
The water drains back out to the ocean leaving nothing but empty sand, threatening to pull us out with it and under the next wave.
It's so easy to give in to the power, the pull.
Sitting in the energy of lack, of withdrawal.
But every ebb is followed by a flow.
The more the water drags out, the bigger the next wave will be.

This is when we get to choose.
We can believe the water has gone, we can leave, withdraw in dissapointment.
We can believe in the next wave , retreat away in fear that it will crash over us.

Or we can prepare, anticipate, expect.
And when the wave comes we can be ready.
We can ride that wave in enjoyment and celebration of the abundance that it brings.

The ebb is not forever
