Today is IDAHOBIT: the International Day Against LGBTQIA+ Discrimination.

IDAHOBIT is held every year on 17th May - marking the date when homosexuality was removed from the WHO Classification of Diseases in 1990. Today we recognise the progress we've made, and how much there's still left to do.

Directions' Pathways Murrumbidgee team facilitate SMART Recovery Groups every Wednesday. All are welcome, and SMART Recovery meetings are completely free.

NAIDOC Week Event Update
We’re excited to share that, in an effort to stay warm and out of the wind, we’ve changed venues this year!

We’ll now be gathering at the Tuggeranong Community Centre.

We look forward to coming together to celebrate NAIDOC Week with you all in our new (and cosy!) location.

In November 2026, the STOP Domestic Violence Conference heads to Canberra.

SDV26 will bring together practitioners, researchers, advocates, government, legal and service system leaders to confront what safety actually requires: risk and lethality prevention, system accountability, culturally safe and inclusive responses and coordinated implementation at scale. This year is designed for sector professionals who want solutions that work in real settings, with measurable outcomes.

Directions' Post Custodial Support (PCS) program recognises that many people exiting custody are at risk of harm from alcohol and other drugs, and have increased barriers to accessing care and may experience the system as fragmented and difficult to navigate.

Our Pathways Murrumbidgee team supported Ngumbaaydyil - All Together In One Place, a free school holiday gathering designed especially for young people and families to come together, have fun and connect with culture on Wiradjuri Country.

Organised by The Cockatoo Initiative, the event at Wagga Beach had something for all ages.

ℹ️ CHN hosted a Commonwealth Psychosocial Support Program (CPSP) Forum for our commissioned providers, Directions Health Services and Wellways Australia. The Forum provided an opportunity for the CPSP teams to come together and discuss and dive into some of the challenges and complexity associated with their programs, as well as time to share stories, ideas and celebrate their successes. Our thanks is extended to Flinders University's CPSP Empower team for facilitating a very informative forum.
