Introducing Elke Mackenzie to the team on the 2nd of June.
For bookings and enquiries call 6260 4774.

"I am very excited to be joining the World of Wellbeing. To be joining such a well regarded practice as a coach and to work alongside practitioners who are dedicated to improving the lives of others is the start of what I know will be a wonderful and fulfilling new chapter.

I love helping people tap into their full potential and build lives that feel aligned and empowered. I’ve worked with people from a range of backgrounds—providing support to find clarity, boost motivation, manage stress, grow confidence and move past the beliefs that are holding them back.

Talking through concerns in a completely confidential and non-judgemental space, I work with clients to unpack challenges and take action. My goal is to help people live and work with more purpose and align their actions with what really matters to them. To unleash their full potential.

I also have a special interest in Ontological coaching—working with how our thoughts, emotions, language, and body shape the way we see the world and the choices we make and how to better support the nervous system to help regulate our emotions.

Before becoming a coach, I worked in senior roles across government, pharmaceuticals, Indigenous affairs, health, and stakeholder engagement. That experience gave me a solid understanding of the challenges people face in different workplaces—and helps me bring empathy, strategy, and practical support to the people I work with.

When I’m not working, I love Pilates, the beach, travel and spending time with my family and two crazy groodles."

(Bachelor of Arts (Psychology/Anthropology), Graduate of Coach U.inc, NLP Practitioner, Psych-K facilitator). Member of the International Coaching Federation).

What is PEMF?

PEMF is the acronym for “Pulsed Electro Magnetic Field Therapy”. Our preferred system that delivers this is the QRS which is the acronym for “Quantronic Resonance System”.
The QRS-101 system is a very effective complementary treatment for wellness. It consists of a full body mat, a smaller pillow applicator and a control box. It’s safe, easy to use and has no side effects. Developed in Germany by a team of top scientists from different fields, it has been on the market since 1990.

It produces low frequency pulsed electro magnetic waves which support and improve all aspects of our circulatory system. Why is this important?

We all know that oxygen is vital for life. We breathe it into our lungs and then, in a matter of seconds, it has to get to all the cells of our body (estimates vary from 35 – 75 trillion cells)!! Children’s books about the circulatory system usually show the heart, lungs, main arteries and main veins: what they don’t show is the incredible network of capillaries. This is so dense that in plastination models of just the blood vessels, the entire body shape is clear with massive concentrations where the organs would be.

The red blood cells are responsible for picking up the oxygen, the white blood cells help fight infection: the ratio in a healthy human adult is about 600 red:1 white which emphasizes this major task of oxygen delivery. Each hemoglobin molecule contains 4 iron atoms, and each iron atom combines with 2 oxygen atoms (FeO2). These same iron atoms deliver the oxygen to the cells and pick up the carbon dioxide and other toxins from the cells, delivering them to the lungs. (That’s a bit of a simplification of a complex process but the presence of iron atoms is relevant to the QRS)

As we age, two important changes may occur in our circulatory system: our blood becomes thicker and the blood vessels, down to the finest capillaries, loose some of their elasticity and / or become hardened by deposits of calcium. In the thickening process the hemoglobin cells start clustering (called the Rouleaux effect) which reduces ease of flow and also decreases the area available to pick up oxygen.

The PULSED electro MAGNETIC waves separate the hemoglobin clusters by attracting the iron atoms and because the waves are pulsed (at a scientifically determined rate and intensity) the degree of separation is marked and has been measured to last 6 – 8 hours. This INcreases the oxygen carrying capacity AND DEcreases the tendency of clumping, thereby reducing the risk of clots forming.

The QRS-101 system supports wellness by enabling optimal delivery of oxygen to all cells. It can be used in conjunction with other treatments or on its own.

At World of Wellbeing we have pulsed electro magnetic field mats in clinic, we have mats we hire out for people to try for a couple of weeks, and we also have the QRS-101 available for sale.

This week on International Women’s Day (IWD), we celebrated the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. Despite their hopes, for many women, there are a range of impediments that interfere with their opportunity to achieve their dreams.

The theme for IWD 2022 is Break the Bias, calling for action to address gender bias, discrimination and stereotyping. This is the responsibility of everybody, but the most effective and impactful way to make social change is to start with personal change.

Perhaps you are feeling disempowered, confused or stuck. Perhaps you are struggling with past trauma. Perhaps you are self-soothing your inner suffering or negative voices with habits you are finding difficult to budge, such as emotional eating. You may feel overwhelmed and helpless but you know deep down that you want and deserve better.

Teena Parkinson is passionate about supporting people to move beyond the issues that are holding them back and helping them progress towards a future of strength, joy and focus. She draws on a range of counselling skills, including strategic psychotherapy and clinical hypnotherapy, to help you become the person you wish to be. To make an appointment with Teena, call the World of Wellbeing Clinic on 02 6260 4774.
