Living with diabetes means paying extra attention to
your feet. High blood sugar can, over time, damage
nerves and blood vessels, making what seems like
small foot problems become big issues very quickly.
With daily foot care, you’ll be ‘taking a stand’ against
diabetes complications—and if you notice any
changes, talk to your Pharmacist.

Weird but true wart facts:
Warts are not caused by dirt: they come from the human papillomavirus
(HPV)
HPV may enter the body months before warts finally show up
Warts may look like corns or splinters—but take a closer look
Some warts grow inwards: these are plantar warts
Stress may make warts worse by weakening your immune system
Got warts? Let’s zap ‘em now. Come in and see your pharmacist for friendly
advice—or talk to your healthcare provider if warts are painful or persistent.

In Real Talk this month, Pharmacist Maria Keskeridis from
Stanhope Gardens, NSW, explains that diabetes can affect both
the quantity and quality of your tears, leading to dry eye
syndrome (DES). This problem is more than an annoyance. Left
untreated, it can cause lasting damage, but there are many
effective steps you can take to protect your eyes. Discover more
in Real Talk.

Have you heard friends talk about melatonin but feel
skeptical about trying it yourself? Melatonin is a hormone
naturally produced by your body to help regulate sleep—
and melatonin supplements mimic this effect. The
best part? With melatonin, you don’t get that groggy
heavy feeling that some sleep aids give you.

Talk to your pharmacist about whether it might help with
peaceful nights and brighter mornings. Find out more.

We've been a little quiet on social media this year, but behind the scenes, it’s been full steam ahead with exciting achievements and milestones.

In February, Colette and Esmond attended the TWC Conference in Melbourne, where TWC Ainslie was named ACT TWC Pharmacy of the Year 2024—a huge honour! Congrats also to TWC Belconnen for their well-deserved nomination.

In March, Esmond joined the annual APP Conference on the Gold Coast, continuing his involvement with the Pharmacy Guild and keeping up with developments in community pharmacy.

We welcomed Jaynie (Floor Manager) and William (Pharmacy Assistant/Delivery Driver) to the team, and they’ve already made a great impact in our community.

Our Flu Vaccination program hit record numbers this year—thank you for trusting us to keep you protected!

In June, Chloe, our Dispensary Technician, was named an ACT finalist in the Maxigesic Pharmacy Assistant of the Year Awards. A huge achievement and well deserved!

Pharmacists Jenny and Alex attended the TWC Masterclass in Adelaide—an inspiring event filled with learning and networking.

Esmond is currently undertaking Full Scope training at university, gearing up for pharmacist prescribing in the ACT. He completed his first residential training in Brisbane in June, covering a wide range of clinical skills.

We were also joined this session by four fantastic UC Pharmacy students—Anna, Halima, Harrison, and Alexa. Thank you for your enthusiasm and energy!

Finally, congrats to Alex, our Intern Pharmacist, who will be presenting her research poster at the upcoming PSA25 conference in Sydney—best of luck!
