Calling all medical students! 📣🩺

You are invited to attend the Medical Student Rural Inspiration Conference on Saturday 30 November at the Manly Pacific Hotel in Sydney.

This one-of-a-kind event has been designed specifically for medical students with an interest in rural medicine and will feature guest speakers, inspiring topics and workshops, including:

🩺 A keynote address from Dr. Marion Dover

🩺 Navigate regional specialty training pathways with Dr. Eleanor Warwick (Anaesthetic Registrar), Dr. Tau Loseli (Orthopaedic Surgeon), and Dr. Matt Wilson (Ophthalmology Registrar)

🩺 A workshop led by Dr. Shannon Nott, Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) Chief Medical Officer

🩺 Dr. Ariah Steel to lead a discussion on Rural Generalism

Students will have invaluable opportunities to connect and network with conference delegates, sponsors, and GPs attending the co-located Rural GPs Conference, culminating in a closing session and evening dinner sponsored by the (The Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine).

Hi All! As we creep towards the application date, AMSA Rural Health in collaboration with the NSW Rural Doctor Network is bringing you an information session on medical officer cadetships!

What is a medical officer cadetship you ask❓ RDN, on behalf of the NSW Ministry of Health, offers cadetships to medical students interested in undertaking a medical career in rural NSW 🩺. Successful applicants receive up to $15,000 per year for the final two years of their medical degree and in return, they agree to undertake two of the first three years of their hospital training in an eligible rural NSW hospital 🏥.
