Welcome on Board Dr Alexis Beaudoin !Starting on 29/06/2026
After a very long search we have found an outstanding caring General Practitioner who we believe
will adequately look after the needs of our Gungahlin community. In times of such uncertainty, it is
important to rely on the experience and skills of medical practitioners who have been well trained at
good local universities and hospitals with recognised skills and qualifications. Dr Alex graduated
from the University of Sydney with 18 years of General Practice experience looking after families and
individuals in Bathurst, Hornsby, Gosford, Broken Hill and Springwood. He has a long history of
teaching young doctors, working in remote communities and caring for patients of all age groups
and diverse backgrounds. Dr Alex an interest in men’s health, mental health, general and preventive health care, and chronic disease.
We are confident that Dr Alex will provide a standard of care that will
satisfy all members of the Gungahlin community.

Dr Yoo-Mi is a longstanding and highly regarded General Practiioner in Canberra. She has a special interest in women’s health, family planning including iud insertion and removal, antenal care and child health. Her attention to detail, dogged perserverance and caring nature ensures a high level of medical care.

Dr Shah is committed to patient satisfaction and quality care. She possesses strong interpersonal and communication skills which enable her to build rapport with both patients and colleagues. She has extensive work experience with both adults and pediatric patients and is dedicated to ongoing professional development.

Dr Shah has further certifications in emergency medicine, women’s health, dermatology, and mental health. Dr Shah has also been actively involved with the education and teaching of medical students.

Outside of work, Dr Shah enjoys spending quality time with her husband and 2 children. Dr Shah enjoyes arts, crafts and photography.

Dr Ashleyn Smith is a GP who graduated from her post-graduate Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery in 2018 through Deakin University, completing the majority of her studies in Ballarat, Victoria. Prior to this, she completed her undergraduate degree as a Registered Nurse, working at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and Ballarat Base Hospital. She has additional qualifications in paediatrics through the Sydney Child Health Program (former Diploma of Child Health) She relocated to Canberra in 2021 to start her full time GP training, completing her fellowship in 2023, and has thoroughly enjoyed the friendly small-town feel that Canberra has to offer.

Ashleyn has a particular interest in weight management medicine. She is currently SCOPE certified through the World Obesity Federation for management of obesity and has a Professional Certificate of Medical Nutrition. Additionally, she is undertaking her Masters of Metabolic Health through the University of Sydney and the Advanced Certificate of Medical Nutrition, with aims to complete the Diploma by the end of this year. She is uniquely qualified, having lived experience herself in a higher weight body and enjoys the challenge of finding the right pathway for each individual to achieve their goals.

Outside of medicine, Ashleyn is a keen photographer, a gaming enthusiast and an ice-hockey supporter. She enjoys spending time with her husband, their two cats and a boisterous labrador and walking.
