Today we would like to highlight our Orange Ladybug Programmes.....🐞🍊

At Skillbuilders our engaging group activities empower girls to cultivate friendship skills, boost self-confidence, and foster a positive self-image. This holidays we're running both Little Ladybugs (6-8 years) and Orange Ladybugs (8-11 years). Both programmes are always popular so don't leave it too late to book!

Through the use of fun games and activities chosen by the girls, we practice conversation skills, learn about non-verbal communication, and develop social and self-awareness. Our experienced therapists use every teachable moment and create a supportive environment where girls learn to encourage each other.

Together, we build essential life skills that promote lasting connections and support the girls to enjoy being their own unique selves!

Today we would like to feature our Social Teens groups......

At Skillbuilders our Social Teens programmes offer tailored activity-based sessions led by group members and supported by our experienced therapists. We have seperate groups for girls and boys. These groups provide a great opportunity for teens to make friendships outside school while developing friendship skills, self confidence, and a positive view of themselves. They can:
* practice conversation skills
* learn about non-verbal communication
* develop social awareness and self awareness.
Mostly we support our teens and encourage them to support each other to enjoy being their own unique selves!
There'll be an 'outing' for the second session - last holidays we went to Lasertag. Group members will be invited to choose their preference for the January holidays beforehand.

This programme is designed by our experienced Occupational Therapy team. We combine innovative approaches including 'Ready Rocket', 'Alert Programme', and specific sensory processing techniques tailored to each child.

We focus on fostering self-regulation and emotional awareness through engaging activities that adapt to the unique needs of each child. Our goal is to empower children with the skills they need to thrive in both school and home environments.

Today we would like to feature our Titan Beetles Programme.......

This is one of our most popular groups and runs twice per week all year round. We have a special school holiday version as well, this time for 8-11year olds. Titan Beetles are unique, interesting and strong, just like the boys who join the group! The boys choose together from a range of engaging activities that we use to support them to develop friendship skills, boost self-confidence, and foster a positive self-image.

Through practice in conversation skills, exploration of non-verbal communication, and fun games designed to heighten social and self-awareness, our experienced therapists create a supportive environment where boys learn to encourage each other.

Today we are highlighting our Talk Write 2 Learn Programme.....

Does your child have wonderful ideas, but struggles to get their thoughts onto the page?
Designed and run by our Speech Therapists using the 'Talk for Writing' approach, children will learn the key to use spoken activities to develop writing skills which will support them in their narrative writing.

This approach supports children to:
- explore the process of 'imitation - innovation - invention'
- orally recite and act out popular stories through listening and reading
- expand and develop oral language skills
- learn the necessary steps for sentence, paragraph and text construction
- develop stronger writing skills

Today we're highlighting our Little Language Group.......
Designed and run by our Speech Therapists, the Little Language Group aims to support children's language development in both expression and comprehension through book share and play-based activities.

Groups will target a range of specific language skills including following instructions, vocabulary, sentence structure and narrative skills.

This is an ideal group for children to develop their social language skills in a safe and supported small group environment.

Today we're highlighting our Mini Masterbuilders and Masterbuilders Programmes.......
Through hands-on building projects including things like Lego construction, children will practice their social communication skills, learn about teamwork, practice active listening and problem solving while enjoying interactive games. We have groups for children aged 5-7 years, and for children aged 8-11years.

Mostly we support the children and encourage them to support each other to enjoy being their own uniques selves! The programme is delivered by therapists experienced in using every teachable moment to support the children to develop essential friendship skills, self confidence and a positive view of themselves.

Today we're highlighting our Bikeriding Programme .......
🚲👭😎 Our bikeriding group focuses on improving children's bike skills and confidence. As well as being a great social activity, bikeriding helps develop core strength, balance, coordination, endurance and full body sensory awareness. And above all, it's FUN!!

This group caters for all children 6 years+ with different skill levels. The group is run by two therapists (OT/Physio) and parents/carers are welcome to participate. Usually we run the group at Kara Playground in Treeby. Children will need their own bike and a helmet.
