🩵 HAPPY MATERNITY LEAVE DR HODGES 🩵

Today is a an exciting day for us at Queensgate Medical Centre as we wish Dr Samantha Hodges’ the warmest of wishes on her last day with us before she begins her maternity leave.

Sam, we will miss you dearly and are SO excited for this next chapter in your life. Wishing you all the best as you prepare to welcome your little one — we can’t wait to meet him!

Queensgate Medical Centre proudly supports Body Majic in his 100km Marathon as he raises funds for 'A Stitch in Time' - A non for profit agency centred around mental health and resilience.

We’re incredibly proud of Gerard and will be cheering him on every step of the way this Saturday, 12th July!

JOIN US!

🏃‍♂️ Start: 5:00 AM at Napoli Mercato – Join Gerard for the first few kilometres and enjoy a coffee on the way back!
👏 Come Along Anytime: Cheer him on along the route – the run map will be available via his Linktree. A wave, cheer, or high five will go a long way!
🏁 Finish Line: From 5:00 PM at The Left Bank – Head down to support Gerard as he powers through the final stretch along the esplanade. There’ll be food, drinks, raffles, silent auctions, and plenty of good vibes! Everyone is welcome.

🏃 100KM FOR MENTAL HEALTH 💙

We’re incredibly proud to stand behind Body Majic as he tackles a massive 100km ultramarathon this July —all to shine a spotlight on mental health, and the silent battles so many young men are fighting every day.

Here in Australia, su***de is still the leading cause of death for young men. It’s a heartbreaking reality—and one that hits close to home for Gerard, who’s bravely shared his own journey with depression. It’s raw and personal, but if it helps even one person reach out—to a mate, a family member, or a group like 'A Stitch in Time' —then every kilometre will be worth it. 🫶

After 20 weeks of intense training (and a few TV appearances!), Gerard is ready to run—and we at Queensgate Medical Centre are with him every step of the way 💙

🦠 RSV AWARENESS WEEK | 1-7 JUNE 2025 🩺

Let’s shine a spotlight on Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) — a common virus that can cause serious illness in infants, young children, older adults, and those with underlying health issues.

At Queensgate Medical Centre, we’re proud to offer RSV immunisations to help protect our most vulnerable. If you’re eligible, now’s the time to act — getting vaccinated is one of the best ways to stay safe and reduce the risk of complications like pneumonia.

✅ Vaccines are FREE for:
👶 Pregnant women (28–36 weeks)
👼 Newborns born after 1st October 2024 (if mum wasn’t vaccinated during pregnancy)
👶 Children born from 1st October 2023 that are immunocompromised
👶 Aboriginal children born from 1st October 2023

🧐Know the signs of RSV:
🔹 Runny nose
🔹 Coughing or wheezing
🔹 Trouble breathing
🔹 Decreased appetite
🔹 Fever

Queensgate Medical Centre will be closed on Monday,2nd of June for the public holiday. Regular practice hours will resume on Tuesday, 3rd of June 2025.
