Last month, our physio Caillin took on the Ironman Western Australia in beautiful Busselton. The event included a 3.8km swim, 180km bike ride, and finished with a full marathon — a huge challenge by any measure. Caillin crossed the line in an outstanding 9:32:48.

He is a dedicated professional and has been supporting our local runners with training and injury management and we are incredibly proud of his personal achievement in Busselton.

We’re excited to welcome back Ghislene, our APA Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist, who has just returned from volunteering at the Pacific Mini Games 2025 in Palau as part of the Australian Volunteers Program.

During her time at the Games, Ghislene worked alongside elite athletes from across the Pacific, delivering hands-on physiotherapy support in a fast-paced, high-performance environment. In addition to her clinical work, she also played a vital role in mentoring and upskilling local rehabilitation staff, sharing knowledge, techniques, and best practices to help build local capacity in sports injury management and rehabilitation.

Here’s what Ghislene had to say about her time in Palau: " My time at the Pacific Mini Games in Palau was truly unforgettable. I had the chance to work with some incredibly passionate athletes and be completely immersed in the warmth and spirit of the Pacific culture. I met so many amazing people along the way, and every day was filled with gratitude, inspiration, and genuine joy. It’s an experience that will always stay close to my heart."

Physiotherapy West are looking for a Part-time Admin/ reception person to commence work in November. We foster a harmonious workplace and positive relationships within our team and community and are looking for someone who wants to be a part of this environment.

This person will be responsible for assisting with the effective and efficient running of the administration and reception at Physiotherapy West.

Ideal applicant abilities:
• Flexible with time – set hours are part of the position but there is relief requirements to be available for times including annual leave and sick leave cover. This may occur at short notice.
• Time management and the ability to prioritise tasks including scheduling client appointments, maintaining practice services, and maintaining practice records.
• Competency with technology and the ability to learn new systems and procedures. Our systems are specific to the healthcare field but can be taught to you if you possess a good learning ability.
• Ability to work under pressure. We aim not to put you under undue pressure, but we are dealing with people and do have tasks that need to be completed within certain time frames.
• Ideally lives within 30 minutes of the clinic – feel free to apply if you live further away but we are looking for a long-term team member. Experience has shown us that if you live further away than this, the chances of you being here in five years is significantly less.
• People management skills – the ability to nurture relationships and communicate business requirements in a warm and helpful manner to staff, clients and other stakeholders including medical professionals and insurers is essential.
• Attention to detail and good organisational skills are essential for this role. You will be required to assist with billing, receipting, record keeping and rostering. These systems require competency.
