Asthma treatment has changed in Australia. Is your plan up to date?
Asthma care has evolved, and many Australians are no longer advised to rely on a blue reliefer puffer alone. New guidelines now recommend combination inhalers (containing both a preventer and a fast-acting reliever in one device) for many teens and adults, even with mild asthma. This approach can reduce flare-ups and hospital visits. There are also newer add-on treatments and biologic injections available for people with severe asthma.
If you or your child haven’t reviewed your asthma action plan recently, now is a great time to check in.
At Top Health Doctors, our GPs can review your medications, update your action plan, and check your inhaler technique to help keep your asthma well controlled.
