💉💉COVID Vaccination appointments are commencing tomorrow 29th September through to 5th October at the Whitsundays Arts and Cultural Centre! 💉💉

🏝 Whitsunday region, the rural outreach vaccination team is coming your way!

The team will be set up in Airlie Beach at the Whitsunday Arts and Cultural Centre for a week from this Wednesday, 29 September.

Anyone aged 12 years and over is eligible to receive their COVID-19 vaccine. Please bring your Medicare card (if you have one), photo ID and it's a good idea to wear a short sleeve shirt.

Due to the recent COVID-19 situation, we ask that all patients please text your full name to ☎️ 0412 907 189 to notify admin staff of your arrival, or alternatively, phone the practice on ☎️ 4948 3323. When the Doctor is ready, we will call you to come to the Practice.

⭐️If you do not have a MobilePhone, please knock on the door and let one of our staff know you have arrived and where you have parked and we will come and get you when your Doctor is ready. ⭐️

Centre Management has provided Whitsunday Family Practice with 8 DESIGNATED CARPARKS for our patients, to assist with taking our waiting room outside for the safety of patients and staff, as we continue to navigate our way through COVID-19 as safely as possible.

❗️Coronovirus Update❗️

We have made some recent changes at the Practice in line with the rapidly changing COVID-19 situation.

🔹 As a Surgery, Management have decided to help keep all Patients and Staff safe. We will no longer be seeing flu-like symptoms in the surgery unless medically urgent (eg. unwell children, suspected chest infections). We are offering telephone based consultations for all Patients. Whilst operating under strict Medicare & Government criteria, we will ensure that each Patient's expectations are still met. Private fees may apply for telephone/video consultations. Please contact Reception on 4948 3323 for further information

🔹 We have closed our waiting room to everyone. We are asking all Patients to wait in their car and to contact us when they arrive for their appointment to receive further instructions. This helps us all exercise social distancing within the community.

🔹Whilst working closely with Centre Management, we have been able to secure dedicated car parking for our Patients close by to ensure the most efficient check-in process.

🔹We are no longer able to swab for COVID-19 at the Practice. We are asking all Patients who wish to be tested for COVID-19 phone ahead to Proserpine Hospital and to follow all directions given by their medical team.

Finally, we would like to personally thank all of our Patients and local community for the continued support whilst we navigate through this difficult time. As always, our goal is to keep our Patients and Staff safe at all times.

❗️Coronovirus Update❗️

Cononavirus will be behind us within a few months

Our focus until then is to prevent the spread or 'flatten the curve', and to help to care for our most vulnerable elderly population.

We have instituted the following

🔸 Skype consults available for at risk populations who are isolating at home. Please call the Clinic for further information.

🔸Self testing facilities at the clinic for high risk patients per current Dept of Health criteria. Please call the Clinic for further information.

🔸Even if your symptoms are due to a cold or flu and are not related to Covid-19, isolating yourself and helping to stop the spread of such symptoms to others will alleviate pressure on our health system.

🔸To assist the elderly in avoiding public transport and any unnecessary public contact a drop off/pick up service is available to drive our elderly patients to medical appointments and assist with essential pharmacy/ grocery trips.

🔸We have a supply of alcohol hand gel. In the interests of assisting our community prevent the spread there is no cost to fill your hand gel bottle, but priority is given to businesses, schools, childcare etc and please only take what you need.
