EDIT: The phone number for Lifeline is 13 11 14.

Supporting a loved one through grief can be incredibly tough, especially with the loss of a public figure like Liam Payne.

Grief is deeply personal, and for many, the connection to a celebrity can feel just as significant as losing someone close. If someone you care about is mourning Liam’s passing, here are a few ways you can offer support:

Listen without judgement -
Let them share their feelings, even if their grief seems unexpected. Celebrities often represent comfort, inspiration, or key moments in life.

Offer gentle support -
Grieving can feel lonely, so small gestures like checking in, offering a shoulder to cry on, or simply being there can make a big difference.

Encourage open conversations -
Ask how they’re feeling or if they’d like to share a memory of Liam’s music or career. Connection can help ease the pain.

Encourage self-care -
Grief can be draining, so remind them to look after themselves. Simple things like eating well, getting rest, and getting outside for fresh air can help with the healing process.

Understand that grief is complex -
There’s no ‘right’ way to grieve. It comes and goes in waves, sometimes when you least expect it. Be patient and compassionate.

Today marks two years of Arch Psychology Melbourne! 🥳

Two years ago, we started this small psychology practice, with the goal of offering a welcoming space where people could feel heard, understood, and supported. The journey has been more rewarding than we could have imagined.

We’ve witnessed incredible strength and growth in every person who has walked through our doors.

We have welcomed three members to our team - Darci, our wonderful practice administrator, and Felicty and Megan, our passionate psychologists.

To our clients, colleagues, and community — thank you for trusting us with your stories and inviting us be a part of your journey. Here’s to many more years of support, growth, and connection!
