Communication is key when it comes to treatment.

At your appointment, your podiatrist will ask you to point out any concerns you have with your feet and, in particular, what is causing you the most pain or distress.

We will then locate and palpate the area, watch you walk or manipulate the foot into positions to assess the pain.

After this assessment, we will clearly communicate the best method of treatment and how it will be administered.

We're with you every step of the way!

Foot pain is an indication of inflammation. It's the body's way of telling us that something is wrong!

At The Podiatry Room, we successfully treat conditions that may be causing foot pain such as Plantar Fasciitis, Morton's Neuroma, bunions and heel pain (just to name a few) by exploring what activities you engage in, assessing the structure of your feet and taking the time to explain how we can treat and prevent the pain.

FOOT FACT FRIDAY šŸ‘£

Did you know that the Achilles’ tendon is the strongest tendon in the body? It connects the lower leg to the heel bone and is essential for walking.

Many people, particularly athletes, experience Achilles tendinitis (inflammation of the tendon) through overuse of the tendon, inadequate stretching before exercise or performing high-impact activities.

To avoid injury, make sure you warm up sufficiently before exercising, choose the right shoes to offer plenty of foot support and gradually increase your exercise rather than jumping in too quickly!

That’s what we’re all about

FOOT FACT FRIDAY šŸ‘£
Did you know that standing still in one position is more tiring on the feet than it is to walk around?

This is because when you are standing still there are only a few muscles being used. Whereas if you are walking, the weight of your body is distributed between different muscles in the feet and lower limbs putting less pressure SOLELY on the feet ( ā¬…ļø see what we did there?)

So don’t just stand there, walk on in to The Podiatry Room

FOOT FACT FRIDAY 🦶
Did you know that on average, an adult takes between 7,500 to 10,000 steps per day? This can equate to 3,650,000 steps every year. That’s a lot of walking!

In this current climate though, you may be finding that your step count isn’t as high as what it usually is. Some great ways to increase your step count whilst isolating at home is to go for a walk / run around your neighbourhood, kick the soccer ball out in the backyard with the kids or pop your headphones in and fire up that at-home treadmill.

With all these steps it’s important to look after your feet with the right podiatry care. Come see us at The Podiatry Room, put your feet up and let us do the rest.

During this time of uncertainty, we at the Podiatry Room wanted to reassure our patients that our doors are open and it is business as usual for the time being. Although the situation is changing from day to day, our practice is still running and our Podiatrists have completed an eLearning course for Infection Control Training - Covid 19 provided by the Australian Government Department of Health. We are closely following the advice and any development of the Queensland Government as well as the Australian Podiatry Association.
If you are, however, feeling unwell OR have travelled overseas recently please phone us on 3162 0292 to reschedule. Take care and we’ll see you at your next appointment🦶

FOOT FACT FRIDAY šŸ‘£
Did you know that our feet can provide an insight into one’s general health?
The initial symptoms of health issues such as arthritis, diabetes and circulatory disorders can often begin in the feet. So a simple foot ailment could be the first warning sign of a more serious medical problem!

FOOT FACT FRIDAY šŸ‘£
Did you know that the human foot contains 26 bones? It is a complex structure of bones, ligaments, muscles and tendons which provides stability, flexibility and resilience. The foot acts as a shock absorber and can withstand enormous pressure through walking and running. Any problem or malfunction in the foot can cause problems in other areas of the body which is why it is so important to look after your feet!
