When you get an injury, do you complete your physio exercises with ease or do you often run out of time and motivation?

Well, we know it can be even harder for our youngsters... why not have them supervised by a physio and surrounded by a group of other young athletes to keep them motivated?!

You can claim your health fund rebate on classes and classes will run before school at our clinic.

Strength training has been shown to reduce the risk of overuse running injuries by 50%

BUT it needs to be the right type of strength training...

Runners would typically look to complete endurance type strength training (high reps and low weights) and multi-joint/ functional exercises
in an effort to mimic the demands of running.

BUT the research supports heavy strength training for injury risk reduction (and heavy/slow strength is great for improving tendon stiffness too).

Also it may actually be easier to achieve the loads needed to mimic forces through different muscle groups in running by completing single joint exercises. So a mix of single joint movements and functional movements can be used in your program!

What strength training are you doing for your running?
