We are offering Day programs at Echidna House, for Participants in the Colac-Otway region.

The real kicker is that is that the “Sounds Good” music and choir groups are facilitated by Watty Thompson, winner of the Best Regional Act at the 2023 Music Victoria awards. A wonderful and rare opportunity!

Watty is very passionate about making music and singing accessible for all.

We can arrange transport to and from the programs and offer flexible support options.

We are also taking expressions of interest for music therapy (core) in the Colac-Otway region. Please get in touch with Jena below to discuss more 🙂

Nature, gardening and animals are a great way to soothe soul.

Respite doesn’t always have to be about action and energy. Some participants use alot of energy just getting through a regular week…by the time the weekend comes they are ready for low key love, comfort and engagement. Our staff are skilled at connecting with participants on a deep level, to know exactly what supports are required.

Thanks Alisha for assisting in supporting Jake this weekend, you guys really have something special.

Getting away from the hustle and bustle of urban life really allows participants to express themselves fully, without inhibition.

Movement, creativity and exercise, are all ways to discharge frustration and pent up energy that could normally lead to maladaptive expressions.

Liam went to bed last night so tired and content, he woke up refreshed, energised and calm.

It was hard to pick just a few snaps here…

Thanks Jena for the amazing work you did yesterday 🙂

So many Berries!

Well this was an unexpected haul! We didn’t expect to get many berries this year, as we have been working to set up our programs, maintaining the local grounds and providing respite. Low and behold, to our surprise the Berry Gods have blessed us!

We can’t wait to see how we can utilise next years harvest for things like roadside sales, market stalls and opportunities for skill development in things like cash handling and customer service.

Beechy Berries is such a special place and every day we are inspired by nature to continue doing what we do, linking with our community and providing a high level service to our participants.

Problem solving is a huge part of what we do here at Beechy Berries, the facilitators are passionate about using recycled materials, usually things that may be laying around and are cost effective.

Even the cooking program is carefully designed to take into account appliances and ingredients that most people would have on hand….

No bells, no whistles, lots of trees and the occasional thistle…oh wait the poem ended a few paragraphs ago 😂👩‍🌾
