Stacey Loukis - Tas Wilderness Yoga

Stacey Loukis - Tas Wilderness Yoga My goal is to encourage all people to improve in range of movement through Stretch Therapy and Yoga. I also hold a Diploma Remedial Massage & Shiatsu. Stacey

To help children and adults work on decreasing mobility deficits which may restrict the body to move with grace and ease. I believe everyone would like to be free from pain and discomfort, and working on flexibility is one of the keys to unlocking that discomfort in the body/mind and spirit. When our body moves freely without restriction we have more energy, feel vibrant, have more motivation to do everything we love. A body that moves well lifts our mood and evokes feelings of happiness. Tas Wilderness Yoga offers Mantra and Chanting Workshops, Day Retreats, 1:1 private sessions and small group classes in Stretch Therapy, Mind Body Meditation, Flow Yoga and Yin Yoga these classes are inclusive and supportive. With a focus on alignment, strength and balance we encourage you to listen to your body when moving in your practice and take the options given that suit your range of movement and comfortability. We practice pranayama, mantra and chanting to help improve the quality of breath, mental focus and present moment awareness. Working with the breath may help improve immunity, lung strength, and give you confidence in using your own beautiful voice. We have a one day Retreat program situated in a tranquil setting at Carlton River, a get away into nature where I believe nature helps us to understand ourselves on a deeper level and brings us closer to understanding what we need to lead us to happiness. With over 30 years in nursing, and a former teacher at Tas TAFE in Aged Care, Enrolled Nursing, and the Health & Wellbeing team where I delivered course content in Shiatsu and Massage. I have a great understanding of how the body moves and functions. I hold a Certificate 3 & 4 in Fitness with 9 years experience in the Fitness industry. I am a Qualified Yoga teacher and Stretch Therapy Senior teacher. I have a wonderful referral system when required for my clients. Your well-being is important to me and I take great care to treat each person uniquely with a genuine approach to supporting you and help you work towards your desired outcomes. Tas Wilderness Yoga views your health holistically and i am here to answer your questions no matter big or small on this platform. or email stacey.loukis@bigpond.com

There is nothing like a good prop or two to support our body and help with alignment. I love offering my students to use the wall and blocks in my yoga classes. It helps people gain confidence, feel supported, and it takes the pressure of them to perform. Yoga is not a performance. Yoga is more than asana. Helping people feel safe when they practice is a priority, building confidence is the aim.

Friends stretching together with this awesome latissimus dorsi stretch. Let's find the tight side and stretch that first, then restretch it after stretching the looser side. Maybe you're neutral and don't have a tight side.
It's good to be curious and check that out!

This consistency of checking and (stretching) to see if you have a tighter side or tight muscle/s brings adaptation, helping muscles release the tension and feeling less tight and restricted. Increasing range of movement. It also brings great awareness of how your muscles are feeling. .studios

This is such a fabulous stretch for the scalene muscles in the lateral side of the neck, the gentle downward pressure from the partner is on the trapezuis muscles.
These guys communicate exactly how much pressure the receiver needs to feel the right amount of pressure for the stretch to be effective and safe. With a couple of isometric stretches during the stretch, this is one of the favourites everyone. .studios

We are having some fun with partner stretching on Saturday mornings! And it's always optional. I can find you a stetch to do solo. The class may have one partner stretch in that class on any day.

When we are relaxed, our body finds it easier to stretch. .studios

Building connections in our stretch classes and having fun in the process.

Amy practising her forward fold with bent knees. We can't force flexibility and why would we want to, just for the sake of looking good. Stretching is ment to feel good not feel painful. Respecting our bodies when we stretch does bring results.
Commitment by Amy with her stretching and now her forward fold feels even better.
