Can we talk about cravings for a sec…. It’s not just from stress, cravings also follow blood sugar levels!!

I didn’t realise that when my blood sugar dips, my body asks for quick energy.

That often looks like chocolate, toast, biscuits, crackers, fruit, or anything fast 😋

Insulin helps move sugar into cells for energy, but when the rhythm is off, the body can swing between spikes and dips.

Those dips are what make you crave, snack, or search for comfort foods late afternoon or after dinner.

This isn’t lack of control, it’s chemistry.

Once you understand it, you stop blaming yourself 😘

Ever had a night where you tossed and turned all night and woke up multiple times for no reason?!?

Yeah me too 🫠

It just makes life so much harder the next day because it mucks up your nervous system and it stays on alert.

What does that look like in real life: anxiety on waking, low patience, cravings, low energy, or feeling wired but tired.

I’ve come to experience first hand that sleep is essential. Sleep affects cortisol, cortisol affects cravings, cravings affect blood sugar, and blood sugar affects mood and energy.

Everything is connected ➰

I want all my friends to know: this isn’t weakness or overthinking, it’s physiology.

Once you understand it, it stops you from feeling like you’re losing your sanity 🤪🧡

Ever wake up at 3am for no reason… and your brain is suddenly wide awake?

You were tired.
You fell asleep fine.
And then eyes open, mind racing.

So many women in their 40s say this is the first thing to change.
Not falling asleep… but staying asleep.

That familiar 3–4am wakeup can be hormones, cortisol, stress or your nervous system doing a little too much.

Most women brush it off as “just life,”

I’ve been thinking, why on earth does nobody talk about the weird symptoms women start getting in their 40s?

It usually doesn’t start with hot flushes like everyone says.

It starts with the strange, quiet things… which I was chatting about with my girlfriends recently:

• waking at 3am for no reason
• itchy skin in random places
• brain fog mid sentence
• anxiety in the pit of your stomach
• heart racing after coffee
• irritability from tiny things
• zero energy after 2pm
• bloating after “safe” foods
• cravings that make no sense
• feeling overwhelmed for no reason

I had assumed I was just extra stressed or “over- tired” but I’ve been learning more about our hormones, sleep patterns, and cortisol, which are shifting long before we realise!! For some women as early as 30 😱

Do you think it’s weird that nobody prepares us for this part and we feel like we’re through it silently?!?
