Do you know the difference between heat 𝗲𝘅𝗵𝗮𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 and heat 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗸𝗲?

While both are caused by overheating, heat stroke is a 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲.

🔥Heat exhaustion may include heavy sweating, nausea, headaches, dizziness or fatigue.
🔥Heat stroke can cause confusion, very high body temperature, hot or dry skin and even loss of consciousness.

This summer, it is important to 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘆 𝗵𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱, 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝘀 in the shade and 𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗱 any 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 during the hottest parts of the day.

Australia loves the sun ☀️ — but that also means we have one of the highest rates of skin cancer in the world. That’s why regular skin checks should be part of your summer routine.

A good place to start is by checking your own skin at home using the 𝗔𝗕𝗖𝗗𝗘 method.
A - assymmetry - one half of the spot looks different from the other
B - border - edges are irregular, blurred or uneven
C - colour - varied shades of brown, black, red or other colours.
D - diameter - larger than 6mm
E - evolving - changing in size, shape, colour or texture.

𝗗𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗻𝗲𝗮𝗸𝘆 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝘁𝘀 — your back, scalp, soles of your feet and between your toes 👀
If you notice anything new, changing or unusual, don’t ignore it.

Sleep is essential for physical health, mood, learning and focus — for both kids and adults
But busy routines and holidays can easily throw sleep off track.

Healthy sleep habits include:
👉 consistent bed and wake times
👉 less screen time before bed
👉 a calm, comfortable sleep space
👉 avoiding caffeine late in the day
👉 relaxing wind-down routines (especially for kids)

As the school term returns, gradually resetting sleep schedules can help children settle back into routine.
