𝗗𝗼 𝗜 𝗡𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗿𝘆 𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗠𝘆 𝗣𝗲𝗹𝘃𝗶𝗰 𝗙𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗿 𝗶𝗳 𝗜'𝗺 𝗛𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗖-𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻?

It’s a question I get asked all the time—especially by mums-to-be who are planning for a C-section. And the short answer is: yes—you absolutely need to take care of your pelvic floor, no matter how you give birth. ❤️

Whether you're having a C-section, planning a vaginal birth, or have already had your baby 👶, your pelvic floor is an incredibly important part of your body. In fact, we think it’s extremely important to maintain pelvic floor health throughout pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond. 💪

Pregnancy can start affecting your pelvic floor as early as two weeks into your pregnancy, thanks to the relaxin hormone that loosens the muscles and ligaments in preparation for birth. This can leave your pelvic floor vulnerable and in need of support during and after pregnancy.

Sadly, 50% of women who’ve had a baby, whether by C-section or vaginal delivery, experience prolapse—another reason to start thinking about your pelvic floor now and continue caring for it throughout your life.

So what does the pelvic floor do? A lot! It’s responsible for spinal and hip stability, sexual satisfaction, and, of course, keeping everything in place down there. The pelvic floor is involved in the birthing process as well, and post-birth, it continues to support us as we go through life.

Hormones, Periods & Performance: The Truth About Training with Your Cycle

If you've ever felt like your body betrays you right before or during your period — you're not alone, and you're definitely not broken. In fact, what's happening is completely normal... and understanding it can totally change the way you train and feel in your body.

Many women — whether they're pregnant, perimenopausal, or still cycling — experience noticeable shifts in strength, coordination, and pelvic support throughout the month. This is largely due to hormonal changes (particularly the rise of relaxin) that affect our muscles, joints, and ligaments.

💡 So what does that actually mean for your workouts?

It means some days, the exercises that felt strong and easy just a few days ago might feel impossible, uncomfortable, or even cause symptoms like:
💧 Leaking
⬇️ Heaviness or dragging in the pelvis
🚨 Lower back pain
❌ General weakness or lack of core support

And no — this doesn’t mean your progress is lost. It just means it’s time to adapt.

We hear it all the time. You’re doing your squats, trying to strengthen and tone — and instead of feeling the burn in your glutes, you're wincing from knee pain. 😩
