Wishing all our clients, supporters, friends and colleagues a very Merry Christmas from the Freedom team. It has been a challenging year for so many, ourselves included. We are so lucky to be surrounded by such a talented, caring and compassionate team, AND to be able to thrive in this community. Thank you everyone for sticking with us, we’re very excited to see what awaits us in 2025!
Freedom will be closed from 20th of December, reopening again on Monday 6th of Jan. We will reopen at Halford Street, however we’re hoping to be back in our new and improved Forest St premises in Feb 2025. Merry Chrissie everyone, have a safe and happy one, and we’ll see you all in the New Year!

For those wondering what the accidental water feature was like..flash, hey!?

Never a dull moment here at Freedom! Water feature, anyone? As with many other businesses in town, we’ve suffered a lot of damage after yesterday’s storm cell. Due to this, our clinic is out of action until repairs can be completed. We are working as hard as we can to find a temporary location to continue our 1:1 sessions from, and will let everyone know ASAP where that will be. Unfortunately it is highly likely our group exercise classes will be postponed until we are back in our Forest St premises, whenever that may be.
We are so very grateful to everyone who has stepped in to help us today - Leanne and Michael, Carla, Ryan, Brett at Castlemaine Property Group, Courtney and Jack for the coffee, Donna and Rod at Castlemaine Boutique Accomodation, Tom at Maine Movers. We really are so lucky to live in this community.

The note that was slipped under my door by one of the Freedom children to let me know of the impending situation but not interrupting me working; and at least our plants are happy!! Jess and Brodie

Freedom Physiotherapy is very excited to welcome Massage Therapist Michelle Johansson to our team! Michelle has over 20 years experience as a remedial massage practitioner. Her treatments include remedial massage, muscle energy technique, cupping, lymphatic drainage, pre and post natal massage. Michelle is dedicated to providing emphatic, intuitive, evidence-based care for her clients. You will always be met with understanding and compassion in the treatment room with Michelle.

We hope everyone has had (or is still having) a wonderful Easter break! We’ve all had a great long weekend, and we’re back with some very exciting news! Freedom Physio is super excited to welcome the wonderful Alison Shirley on board as our new Pilates Instructor! Ali is a Pilates practitioner of over 20 years experience. She loves to journey her clients into revelations and discoveries in their bodies that set them up for achieving their individual goals.

Yes! The rumours ARE true - Freedom Physiotherapy has a Kids’ Physio!Freedom Physio is super excited to welcome the fabulous Sam Wills to the team! Sam is a paediatric physio, with over 20 years of experience working with children of all ages - from babies to 17 years of age. His specialties include infant orthopaedic issues, such as hips, feet heads and backs as well as experience in teenage knees and ankles and return to sport. Sam has done a lot of work with children with connective tissue disorders like Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and has extensive knowledge of normal postural variations, such as intoeing, flat feet, knock, knees and bow legs.

Welcome Maartje!!

Maartje is a Sports Physiotherapist with more than 20 years’ experience working in the elite sporting environment nationally and internationally, having worked with athletes from Tennis Australia, the NRL, the AFL and The Masters Games.

Maartje has a passion for Pilates and advanced Pilates, and will be looking to introduce some new class times to our already busy Pilates and group exercise class timetable.

Maartje has a personal interest in hockey, swimming and running and enjoys working within a team environment. She is available for physiotherapy and 1:1 Pilates consults on Tuesdays and Fridays.
