Every year, 1 in 20 Aussie kids is born with a genetic condition. These conditions can affect nearly every part of a child’s life - from how their body grows and moves, to how they see, hear, learn, and thrive. 🧬👶

Genetic conditions can be complex, lifelong, and deeply personal. Families often face challenges with feeding, development, communication, mobility, learning, and medical care.

That’s where Jeans for Genes steps in. By funding the incredible work of the Children’s Medical Research Institute, this campaign supports vital research to better diagnose, treat, and one day even cure childhood genetic conditions. 🔬❤️

In our clinic, we see firsthand the strength and resilience of children living with genetic conditions – and the difference early support, intervention, and research can make. By providing multidisciplinary care from speech pathologists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and dietetics, we work together to make a difference in the lives of these children and their families.

🧪 Did you know? Genetic research has already led to breakthroughs in gene therapy, cancer treatment, and early diagnosis of inherited diseases – helping more kids live longer, healthier lives.

Last week's SWKC Student Open Night was amazing! 🎉

Students had the chance to tour the clinic, get hands-on with our equipment and resources 🧠🧰, and connect with the team 🤝 to hear firsthand about life as a new grad in private practice. It was a fun, engaging, and informative evening for all involved 💬✨

Big win for Demi! With the support of Speech Pathologist Priscilla and Occupational Therapist Madz, Demi was able to use her communication device and money to purchase her very own Macca’s order. 🍟💬💰

Functional life skills like communication and money handling are important skills to work on in therapy - helping kids build confidence and independence in everyday situations is central to client goals.
