Celebrating 7 years of our wonderful Occupation Therapist, Anna! 🥳🎉

South West Kids Clinic is over the moon to be celebrating another year with Anna. She is such an integral part of our team, bringing us back down to earth, keeping us grounded and representing all our core values in all that she does! Every family she works with is lucky to have such a dedicated OT on their team! 🤍

Imagine all the hard work, the practice, the careful steps in therapy — and then finally seeing it pay off.

SP Maddy notices a key moment in Domi’s feeding therapy — a swallow that’s safer, more confident, more controlled. This is exactly why we do what we do. 💛

Every small win, every tiny change, tells a story of progress. Moments like this make all the effort worth it.

Communication access changes everything - and being part of that journey is the greatest privilege 💛

Switch access allows individuals to use simple, intentional movements — like a head turn — to control technology, play, learn, and communicate. It’s not about the device, but the doorway it opens to connection, choice, and independence. 🌈

Building strong postural muscles = building confidence in every move! 💪✨

Today we worked on sitting balance using gentle, hands-on support to:

🧘🏽 Guide him into sitting
🧍🏽‍♂️Encourage upright posture
💪🏼Stabilise arms for better core control

Every little movement helps him gain independence and explore safely. 🌟

💛 You are the key to your child’s therapy success.

At South West Kids Clinic, we believe the most powerful progress happens between sessions — in the everyday moments you share with your child.

When caregivers are involved, children feel supported, practise new skills more often, and build confidence faster. 🌱

You model, encourage, advocate, and celebrate — and that makes all the difference.

Together, we’re not just working on goals… we’re building lifelong growth. ✨

👖 It’s Jeans for Genes Day – a powerful reminder of the impact that genetic conditions can have on children and their families, and a chance to support groundbreaking research that brings hope for a healthier future. 💙

Every year, 1 in 20 Aussie kids is born with a genetic condition. These conditions can affect nearly every part of a child’s life - from how their body grows and moves, to how they see, hear, learn, and thrive. 🧬👶

Genetic conditions can be complex, lifelong, and deeply personal. Families often face challenges with feeding, development, communication, mobility, learning, and medical care.

That’s where Jeans for Genes steps in. By funding the incredible work of the Children’s Medical Research Institute, this campaign supports vital research to better diagnose, treat, and one day even cure childhood genetic conditions. 🔬❤️

In our clinic, we see firsthand the strength and resilience of children living with genetic conditions – and the difference early support, intervention, and research can make. By providing multidisciplinary care from speech pathologists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and dietetics, we work together to make a difference in the lives of these children and their families.

🧪 Did you know? Genetic research has already led to breakthroughs in gene therapy, cancer treatment, and early diagnosis of inherited diseases – helping more kids live longer, healthier lives.
