A regular question of late, “can I jump in Scoot Boots”.

Absolutely you can jump in Scoots.......this mare has gone from virtually unsound and very unhappily shod to barefoot for approx 6 months and since then hasn’t looked back.

A very happy horse with healthy hooves!

Sometimes you wonder where to start, particularly when meeting a lame (unable to weight bare) thoroughbred.
After spending five minutes with this guy, I absolutely knew this fight was worth pursuing, even if only for his comfort towards an inevitable journey!

Appears the time and effort was beyond mine and Jed’s expectation!

Three months of continuous trims, you owe me a ride Mr Jed!

We’re now friends and absolutely have a mutual understanding!

We have a long way to go my friend, but we’ll absolutely get there!

Happiest of New Years to all, here’s hoping for an equine friendly 2022, increased events and reduced COVID impacts!

After all, increased activity/movement creates healthier hooves which equates to happier horses!

Feeling privileged, having spent time with a special little man who had succumbed to the affects of ‘SPRING’ and associated laminitis!

Despite not being to his liking, a period of confined space, restricted and specific diet, increased exercise and movement (once able and comfortable to do so) and daily progressive trimming.......he’s now home with his little people and enjoying life!

Although not pretty and not about to impress the judges, don’t delay treating seedy toe, the effects can be detrimental.
