PILATES…. Named after Joseph Pilates.

“Joseph Pilates was born in 1883 in Germany. As a sickly child, he struggled with asthma and rickets, which motivated him to become physically strong. He studied various forms of exercise, including gymnastics, yoga, and martial arts, and became a skilled bodybuilder and boxer. His diverse training laid the foundation for the creation of his own system of physical fitness, initially known as "Contrology."

During World War I, Pilates developed his exercise method while interned in England. He helped fellow prisoners with rehabilitation through specific exercises focusing on posture, muscle strength, and flexibility. Pilates later moved to the US, opening a studio in New York City where his method gained popularity among dancers and athletes for improving strength, flexibility, and coordination while preventing injury. His fitness approach emphasized controlled movements, core strength, and body alignment.”

What a lovely night celebrating the festive season with a latge number of clients from the Pilates classes! A great turn out with lots of laughter.

This dinner highlighted what a beautiful community of people the clinic has, with everyone supporting each other to achieve the best versions of themselves both physically and mentally.

We hope everyone enjoys their festive season. Stay safe and healthy! 🎄🎄

Once again, Anita Nicholas Physiotherapy is participating in the Share the Dignity “It’s in the Bag” collection.

Help ensure no woman or girl waking up in a domestic violence shelter or homelessness refuge on Christmas Day has to go without the essentials. This year, the charity has an ambitious goal of 150,000 bags to try and meet increased requests from our charity partners.

If you would like to donate a bag we are collecting bags this week at the clinic, which will then be taken to the local Bunnings drop-off point.
