SSWAM Student Social Work Association of Monash: Empowering Monash University students towards achieving social justice.

The Student Social Work Association of Monash aims to promote the social work discipline within Monash University through:
• raising awareness of social justice issues on and off campus
• advocating on behalf of students to the Social Work Department
• Provide opportunities for networking and support within the social work cohorts through social events
• promoting World Social Work Day and Mental Health Week
• partnering with human services and social justice-based organisations
• equipping students to be involved in rallies, signing petitions and taking social action
• working alongside other clubs and disciplines within Monash University

Hi everyone! ✨

SSWAM is hosting a coffee catch-up at Tiger Mum Canteen (on-campus) on Wednesday May 28th between 12:30pm and 3:00pm.

We want to give you a chance to sit down, relax, and chat with other Social Work students. The first 50 attendees will get a voucher for a free drink on SSWAM from Tiger Mum.

Please note that vouchers can only be redeemed during the event between 12:30pm to 3:00pm and are for MSW students only.

4.40pm - Keynote speaker: “Truth-Telling and Intergenerational Solidarity: An Indigenous Perspective on Social Work and Wellbeing” by Colleen Kelly
5.10pm - Panel Discussion: Solidarity, wellbeing and social work practice (with Q&A) led by Jacinta Woehl and Frank Golding OAM
