“I learn only to be content.”
These words are carved into a tsukubai — a unique stone wash basin found at the historic Zen garden of Ryōan-ji in Kyoto. Its inscription teaches that one who learns to be contented, awakens to a deeper richness of spirit. Anchored in Zen philosophy, this tsukubai invites each visitor to pause, bow, and enter with humility and presence.
Here at Body Moves, this timeless teaching mirrors the heart of our practice and echoes the healing journey we guide. Movement becomes meaningful not through striving, but through returning to your body with patience, awareness, and compassion. Strength grows through steady dedication; ease through mindful attention; and healing through learning to be fully present with what is.
May this quiet symbol remind you to breathe deeply, honour your body, and find contentment in each moment of your practice.
