If laughter counted as professional development, we’d be certified many times over 😎

Between sessions, supervisions, and the occasional snack break strategy meeting, we’ve mastered the art of balancing excellence with a good dose of fun.

Because when you love what you do (and who you do it with), work doesn’t feel like work 😉

💥 AAC Myth Bust! 💥

💬 “My least favourite AAC myth? That it’s going to stop my child from talking.”

This one couldn’t be further from the truth.

AAC doesn’t replace speech - it supports it.

It’s a vital tool in language development, helping children and adults express themselves, build understanding, and grow confidence in communication.

Every voice deserves to be heard - no matter how it’s expressed.

🌟 Meet Miwa - Speech Pathologist, innovator, and proud member of our Immediate Capacity team in Ballarat!

Originally from Japan, Miwa moved to Australia to complete her Master of Speech Pathology. She’s now happily settled in Ballarat with her young family - bringing her warmth, creativity, and person-centred approach to every client she supports.

Miwa is passionate about helping clients and families feel confident in their communication journey. She’s known for making therapy fun and functional - from building relaxed connections with children to supporting adults in everyday life.

One of her favourite memories? Supporting a local farmer to confidently use communication strategies in the real world - even visiting the livestock market and working on literacy skills to help him choose the right gate for his sheep! 🐑

We’re so lucky to have Miwa on the GRP team - her dedication to practical, person-centred care is what GRP is all about.

6 speechies. 6 reasons we love AAC.

Every clinician experiences AAC differently - and that’s the beauty of it.

Fact: Sadly, a significant portion of people who need communication support DON’T have reliable ways to express themselves - which is why AAC is so vital.

💬 “To me, AAC means connecting with others, sharing thoughts and ideas no matter where you go, and more independence to achieve your goals.”

Hearing those words through an AAC device is exactly why we do what we do.

AAC is more than a tool - it’s a voice, a bridge, and a reminder that communication takes many forms.

When we make communication accessible, we open the door to belonging, confidence, and independence.

Keep following our posts this week to see what other reasons our team loves AAC 💬✨

This week we’re thrilled to:

💛 And welcome back Renee, our incredible Practice Manager, returning from maternity leave - we’ve missed her steady leadership and can’t wait to have her back in action.

At GRP, it’s the people that make the difference - from greeting clients with warmth to keeping the wheels turning behind the scenes. Every role helps us create the workplace and community we’re so proud of.

At GRP, our work goes beyond the session.

It’s about creating ripples of impact in homes, schools, day programs, aged care facilities, and community spaces where communication really matters.

Because when people are supported to use their voice - in whatever form that takes - confidence grows, relationships strengthen, and communities thrive.

Every word has power. Every connection makes a difference.
