Bowen Therapy is a gentle hands-on technique in which subtle but precise “moves” are performed over muscles and connective tissue. These Bowen moves help to bring the body into balance, promoting deep relaxation, well-being, and healing. A session typically takes 45 minutes to 1 hour and includes frequent but essential pauses (in between sets of Bowen moves) that allow the body time to respond and begin the healing process. Often, only a few sessions, around a week apart, are needed to correct the presenting problem. Bowen therapy is gentle, but powerful and is appropriate for people of all ages and conditions.
