The clinic will be closing early today (22/11/24) at 3pm to change our practice software. We look forward to seeing you Monday morning with a new computer program. Please be patient with us as we get used to it!

Flu vaccines have arrived at Cumberland Street Clinic. Call (02) 49903222 to make an appointment for one of our fluvax clinics.

Flu vaccines are recommended for all people above 6 months old and are an important way to protect you and your family. Free vaccinations are available for some at risk groups and for those not eligible they are $20.

The NSW government program offers free vaccinations for the following at risk groups:
- all children aged 6 months to less than 5 years of age
- all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 6 months and over
- pregnant women (influenza vaccine can be given at any stage of pregnancy)
- people aged 65 years and over (a vaccine that is specifically designed to produce a higher immune response is available for this group)
- all individuals aged 5 years and over with specific chronic medical risk conditions (including heart disease, lung conditions, neurological disorders, immunocompromised patients, diabetes, renal failure, blood disorders and children on long term aspirin)

Introducing...
Dr Aidan Simmons who has just joined us here at Cumberland Street Clinic.

Having trained as a doctor in the UK, he moved to Newcastle to be with his Australian family, and has now moved to the Hunter area to settle into practice here.

After some time as an ENT surgeon in training, he spent 5 years in Emergency Medicine before finally settling into General Practice.

He is currently works Tuesday to Friday at the practice and is accepting new patients.
