✅ Your pelvic floor isn’t misbehaving.
It’s managing.

Overworked. Under-supported.
Doing its best while the rest of the team—glutes, posture, nervous system—struggles to keep up.

🥵And telling it to “just relax”?
That’s like asking a stressed-out manager to chill… while the office burns.

Lasting relief doesn’t come from isolating one area.
It comes from restoring balance across the system.

💡Pelvic tension is often a team issue.
The fascia always gives us clues.

Seen this in your clients—or yourself?
Let’s talk about what happens when we support the whole. 🌸

Your fascia holds more sensory nerve fibres than your skin and eyes combined. 💢

It doesn’t just wrap muscles—it listens, remembers, and speaks.

It tells us when stress is present.
It stores the echo of past experiences.
It shapes the space baby moves through. 🌸

When fascia is nourished—through movement, breath, hydration, and calm—it softens.
And when it softens, oxytocin flows more freely.
Which matters. Especially in birth. ✨

Fascia isn’t passive.
It’s your body’s communication network.
And it deserves care.💜

How do you support yours?

We often label babies “badly positioned” when they’re posterior, transverse, or anything other than ideal. ❌

But what if baby isn’t wrong… just responding wisely to the space available?

The truth is, fetal positioning isn’t about control—it’s about options.
More space, more softness, more balance = more choice. 🌸

Babies are brilliant navigators.
Sometimes they choose the “less ideal” spot because it’s safer, quieter, or more adaptable in that moment.

Bodywork isn’t about forcing a turn.
It’s about creating enough room for baby to decide. 💜

Last week, a 32-week client said, “Yes, you can work there” as I rested my hand on her hip.

But her body said otherwise—flinching, pulling away, tension skipping to her lower back.

I paused and explained: there’s a difference between verbal permission and body consent. We’re taught to override discomfort… but the fascia doesn’t lie.

Research shows tissue responds best when the nervous system feels safe. Pushing through often creates more resistance.

So we followed her body’s lead—worked gently elsewhere first. Within minutes, that tight hip softened without force.

Your body’s messages matter. Especially in labour prep.

They’re not random. They’re wise. 💜

Honoured to be returning as a speaker for the 2025 Birth Healing Summit!!

This year, I’m sharing something close to my heart:
how to support the body through early labour—
…when things aren’t quite progressing as expected,
…when subtle signs are asking for attention,
…when the path needs a little clearing before it opens.

Because early labour isn’t just the warm-up.

It’s the body preparing the way.

And when we know how to listen and respond, we can support birth in ways that truly shift outcomes.

This summit brings together 22+ birth workers and practitioners sharing knowledge, skills, and grounded wisdom to transform how we show up for pregnancy and birth.

You can sign up through the link in our bio and join the conversation.

It’s such a special event—and I’d love to have you there.

The sensations we feel in pregnancy and birth aren’t just random—they’re messages from our body, guiding us toward what needs support. These are some of the most common sensations we see with clients, each linked to key tension points and baby’s positioning. When we are to listen, we learn how to work WITH our body, not against it.

Flexion is such a game-changer when it comes to helping babies navigate the pelvis with ease. But what fascinates me most is when we’ve worked through the usual tension spots, and babies still show us there’s deeper, more complex tension to uncover.💜

There’s no crystal ball to tell us what labour might have looked like without addressing these layers of tension, but I’ve witnessed enough deflexed heads in the birth suite to know it’s far from easy.

Internal release work, while intense, is truly transformative. It works with the incredible responsiveness of fascia to unravel those final pieces of the tension puzzle. Lately, I’m seeing it make a profound difference—not just for baby positioning, but for easing those lingering pregnancy aches too. It’s remarkable how much the body can tell us when we listen. 🌸

Have you noticed the two big trends in our 2024 data?

1️⃣ Bodywork for fetal positioning makes a measurable difference in supporting physiological labour onset—one of the strongest predictors for reducing other interventions in birth.
2️⃣ Where you choose to birth truly matters!

Every one of our lovely clients received the same care and preparation from Jess or Gabrielle. Yet, their labour onset stats varied greatly depending on where they birthed. This highlights a truth we see time and again: prep work is only one piece of the puzzle.

Think of birth prep like baking a cake. Flour (your prep work) is vital, but it’s not enough on its own. You need the right environment, the right support, and the right tools to create something amazing. The people around you when you birth your baby can be just as important as the work you put in beforehand.

We know it’s not always easy to have the financial freedom or health to choose where you birth. But stacking as many cards in your favour as you can—especially in more medically managed settings—can make a world of difference.

💡 The stats speak for themselves: Fetal positioning matters. And so does where you birth!

The beauty of working with the PSOAS is that she doesn’t always need direct attention. When you soften the areas around her, she softens in return—creating a ripple effect throughout the body.

The psoas is deeply connected to so many areas—her positioning and size mean she influences, and is influenced by, everything from pain to baby’s positioning. Release one area, and the body responds by letting go in ten more.

There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to softening the psoas. It’s about discovering what works best for YOUR body, and that’s where we come in—helping you work with your body, not against it.
