Happy Holidays from our team at Moggill Road Family Practice! ✨

As the festive season approaches, it’s a great time to get on top of your health and that includes your routine cancer screenings.

Many cancers develop quietly, without early symptoms. Screening is a simple way to stay proactive and protect your long-term wellbeing. If you’re not sure what you’re due for, our GPs are here to guide you through cervical, bowel, and lung screening options based on your age and personal risk factors.

With public holidays coming up, we encourage you to book your appointments early. We’ll be open during our standard hours on all non-public holiday dates, so you can get the care you need before the year wraps up.

Are you ready to make your health a priority? Call (07) 3518 3020 or book online to secure your spot.

Wishing you a safe, healthy, and peaceful festive season.

Breathe easy with early detection.

Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related death in Australia, but when caught early, treatment has a far better chance of success.

If you’re aged 50-70 years, and either currently smoke or quit smoking in the past 10 years, and have a significant smoking history, you might be eligible for a free low-dose CT lung screening through the National Lung Cancer Screening Program (NLCSP).

This quick scan (about 10–15 minutes) can spot lung changes well before symptoms appear. It’s a simple check that gives you peace of mind, or a head start on treatment.

If you think you might be eligible, or just want to know more, book an appointment with us or call (07) 3518 3020.

Let’s look after your lungs, together. 💛

A test from home can make a big difference. 💙

Did you know that you can screen for bowel cancer in the comfort of your own home? The National Bowel Cancer Screening Program offers a simple test every 2 years for eligible Australians.

Here’s who’s eligible:
• From 45 to 74 years old can participate in the free program.
• If you're 45–49, you can request your first kit.

Why it matters:
• More than 90% of bowel cancers can be successfully treated when found early.
• The test is non-invasive and easy to do — it only requires a small sample, which you simply post back.

If you think you might be due (or just want to check), talk to your GP. Our team at Moggill Road Family Practice is ready to support you every step of the way.

Call us on (07) 3518 3020 or book online to request a test or discuss your options.

Early care means peace of mind...

If you’re female, aged 25 to 74 years, regular cervical screening is one of the most effective ways to protect your health. At Moggill Road Family Practice, our friendly team is here to support you with respectful, confidential care, whether you’re overdue for a check or simply want to ask questions.

✅ The current recommendation: Have a cervical screening test (which looks for certain types of HPV) every 5 years.
✅ Even if you’ve been vaccinated for HPV, screening still matters.
✅ If you’re unsure when your last test was, now’s a good time to get back in touch with your GP.

Ready to book? Call (07) 3518 3020 or book online.

Let’s keep your health on track, together.

✅ Bowel Screening: Every 2 years for Australians aged 50–74 (home test kits available).
✅ Lung Screening: Recommended for people at higher risk, make sure to speak to your GP to see if it’s right for you.
