Post-pregnancy muscle separation repaired as part of an abdominoplasty by Dr Moncrieff. Watch until the end to view her results from all angles ▶️
Dr Moncrieff performed an abdominoplasty (also known as a tummy tuck) using surgical and liposuction techniques to repair a significant 3.2cm abdominal muscle separation post-pregnancy, create a new navel and add contour to this patient’s waist.
WHY MUSCLE REPAIR?
Dr Moncrieff finds that most women experience some degree of muscle separation after birth due to the expansion of the abdominal wall to accommodate for a growing baby. For some women, the muscles will come back together over time, but for others unfortunately they do not. Incorporating muscle repair into a tummy tuck procedure can alleviate many of the chronic symptoms that come with muscle separation, including incontinence, lower back and abdominal pain, postural issues, pelvic floor dysfunction and more.
COST
The out-of-pocket cost for this procedure starts at $22,500 (total costs for an insured patient including our Plastic Surgeon, hospital, anaesthetist, garment, post-operative visits, LED Healite treatment for scars, etc).
