Teen acne isn’t caused by “bad hygiene” and more products don’t mean better skin.

Teen skin is biologically different to adult skin.
It has a developing barrier, higher oil production and increased sensitivity which means aggressive skincare can actually make acne worse.

The most common mistakes I see in clinic:
• Over-cleansing or using harsh cleansers
• Starting adult actives too early
• Skipping moisturiser because skin is “oily”
• Following social media skincare trends

🔬 Research consistently shows that protecting the skin barrier, reducing inflammation and using age-appropriate treatments leads to better long-term acne outcomes.
