This week, it’s the boss’ turn! Brock, our fearless leader, couldn’t dodge the spotlight any longer — now it’s time to hear from the man at the helm.

1️⃣ What’s your favourite tool in your kit?
My mind and its ability to overcome all challenges. It hasn’t let me down yet. It has cost me a lot of nights sleep though.

2️⃣ What do you love about working at Wired Wright Electrical?
It’s hard to just choose one thing when there are so many positives. Just a couple that come to mind.

⁃ Working with our excellent customer base.
⁃ The banter when working on site with boys.
⁃ Watching the apprentices develop and learn each day.
⁃ Looking back at where the business started and how it has developed and grown over the years. Every day at work can be an exciting and new adventure

3️⃣Coffee order – what are we getting you?
Cappuccino if my wife is around. Refreshing Ice Break if she is not. Aka ‘Tradies Breakfast’

4️⃣First thing you do when you get home after a big day?
Get whatever little energy I have left completely drained out of me by my two toddlers.

5️⃣What’s your biggest tradie pet peeve?
Gyprockers not bringing your cabling out through the walls. They’re an electricians natural enemy.

6️⃣If tradie life was a movie, what would the title be?
The good, the bad and the ugly.

This week, the spotlight is on Emily—usually the one asking the questions, but it’s only fair she gets a turn too. No escaping it this time!

1️⃣ What’s your favourite tool in your kit?
My husband – no really, him. He fixed the aircon in my rental 12 years ago (yes, we met on a job – very professional). Since then, he’s been keeping things cool ever since – literally and metaphorically. He’s reliable, a perfectionist, and can make any electrical problem Wright again. Best tool I ever picked up.

2️⃣ What do you love about working at Wired Wright Electrical?
What’s not to love? We built WWE from the ground up while both working other jobs— long hours, late nights, and a clear vision: to create an electrical contracting business where we could lead the way in our field.

Our top-notch crew, and our amazing clients make it all worthwhile. Every day’s a mix of problem solving schedules, teamwork, keeping the boys in check with their paperwork. And delivering excellent service while we’re at it!

3️⃣Coffee order – what are we getting you?
Medium cappuccino. Bonus points if it’s still warm when I finally get to it.

4️⃣First thing you do when you get home after a big day?
Work phone down and then it’s straight into the dinner-bath-bed Olympics with our two tiny bosses.

5️⃣What’s your biggest tradie pet peeve?
Ice Break’s at smoko. Nothing good ever follows. If I find out an apprentice brought one for the boss to site, expect them to be assigned the most ridiculous, soul-crushing jobs I can legally give them. Coincidence? Definitely not.

6️⃣If tradie life was a movie, what would the title be?
Home Late

❄️ What’s better than installing giant fans during a week of -1°C mornings? Probably anything warmer… but we did it anyway!

Our team recently completed the installation of two Zephyr Industrial fans at Charleville State High School, helping future-proof their large hall for the warmer months ahead.

While the fans might not be getting much love right now (thanks, winter!), they’ll be working hard to keep students cool and comfortable when the Queensland heat returns.

💪 Great job to the crew for powering through the cold!

My favourite tool would be my little M12 impact drill, gets into the hard to reach places, has a great amount of power

2️⃣What do you love about working at Wired Wright Electrical?
I love the variety of work we do at Wired Wright. Makes everyday different and interesting. One day we are doing a switch board upgrade and re-wire, then the next day we could be out at a property working on a bore

3️⃣ Coffee order - what are we getting you?
No coffee for me, a cup of tea or some juice is the go

4️⃣First thing you do when you get home after a big day? Say Gday to my girls and then head straight to the toilet

5️⃣Whats your biggest tradie pet peeve? Tradies that don’t take pride in their work

6️⃣It’s 10am (universal tradie smoko time) what’s on the menu? Most likely the special from the Milk Bar or the special from Cafe in the Mulga

📅 It’s the lead-up to EOFY… but these boys are still smiling! 😄

Why wouldn’t they be? They’re heading out west for the ultimate blokes trip — no nagging women, no bossy toddlers, just cold beers and (fingers crossed) a working TV for State of Origin on Wednesday night! 🍻🏉

While the boys aren’t in town this week, the wheels in the office are still turning — aka Emily holding down the fort.

Great advice from the Electrical Safety Office! ⚡
Always good to keep safety top of mind—especially when it comes to electricity.
Check out the important tips they’ve shared below. Stay safe, everyone! 👇

Shocks and tingles can be a part of life – from bill shock or the tingle of meeting the love of your life!

But there are definitely times when you should NOT feel them - when you touch an electrical appliance or any metal fittings such as a water tap.

If you do feel an electric shock or tingle, immediately contact your electricity distributor, who can make the situation safe and investigate the cause. It's not normal and could signal an electrical issue in your home. 🚨

Stay well clear of the location and warn others. It's important not to touch your meter box, switchboard, appliances or metal fixtures such as taps until the property has been made safe.

If you or someone else gets shocked, seek medical advice ASAP. "
