Victoria’s Chief Health Officer (CHO) has issued an alert after one case of measles was confirmed in Greater Bendigo.
Exposure locations and times for the case are:
- 19 February 2025 - 8.30pm - 9.05pm - Lansell Square
- 19 February 2025 - 8.30pm - 9.05pm - Coles Lansell Square
- 20 February 2025 - 12.30pm - 1.05pm - Coles Bendigo
- 20 February 2025 - 4.30pm - 6.30pm - Epsom Village
- 20 February 2025 - 4.30pm - 5.45pm - Aldi Epsom
- 20 February 2025 - 5.10pm - 5.45pm - Woolworths Epsom Village
- 20 February 2025 - 5.20pm - 6.15pm - Chemist Warehouse Epsom
- 20 February 2025 - 5.50pm - 6.30pm - Epsom Village Pizza
- 24 February 2025 - 5.50am - 9.00am – Bendigo Health Emergency Department
The case also attended sites in metropolitan Melbourne.
Anyone at these sites during the specified dates and times should monitor for symptoms for 18 days after the last exposure.
If symptoms develop, please isolate and telephone your GP.
If you have not had two doses of measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine or are unsure if you have, contact your GP.
Measles is a highly infectious viral illness that can lead to uncommon but serious complications, such as pneumonia and brain inflammation.
Symptoms of measles include fever, cough, sore or red eyes (conjunctivitis), runny nose, and feeling generally unwell, followed by a rash that usually starts on the face before spreading down the body.
