Here is a testimony from a teenager who attended our previous workhop. Having positive and productive ways to handle your emotions and fresh perspectives on why you think and act the way you do, opens doors for you to live a life where you can make better choices for yourself.

Over the three days, I gained invaluable insights into managing my emotions and tackling conflicts more constructively, effectively, and handling conflicts with greater maturity. Before this experience, I struggled with frustration and anger during disagreements, particularly with my mum. I often found myself sinking to emotionally unstable levels. However, through well-structured and engaging activities, I learned positive ways to process my emotions and developed effective strategies for handling problems. The fun, engaging, and thoughtfully designed activities provided fresh perspectives, helping me grow and acquire lifelong skills. This experience is essential for anyone looking to enhance personal growth and emotional resilience and I would 100% recommend it.

This session did not disappoint at this workshop
The teens went deep and shared with heart and soul
Such a privilege to witness these amazing young men and women

💫One of my favourite parts of our workshop is called ‘My Story’.

It is where the teens share something about themselves that they would not normally share with a group.

They become vulnerable. I watch their armour come off and I can see the real person that hides beneath. The one they hide from view, just in case they are judged or made wrong.

As they share, the rest of the group hold them in silence and with reverence. A sight that you won’t see too often within a group of teenagers.

So I feel gratitude that I have witnessed many ‘stories’ I will hold close to my heart. ❤️❤️❤️

Below is a passage written by one of the participants after doing the 'my story' segment. 👦

The best part of the workshop for me was when I had to get up and tell my story. This was the moment I felt scared and worried to share a really personal event in my life that I couldn’t share with other people. I didn’t realise I had the ability to step out into the open, not knowing what people are going to say or think about me. I spoke from the heart and in that moment felt very powerful. I wasn’t listening to the voices in my head, just being in the moment and vulnerable. There was a point when I felt really sad but relieved because I got to share it with others. I will always remember this time as it helps me remember it’s ok to be vulnerable. It has allowed me to grow, step out of my comfort zone and feel powerful. 💪💪💪

Exploring negative core beliefs and sabotaging strategies that get in the way of us living our best lives. Unpacking what we say and do to ourselves is confronting. Realising we have a choice to give up these beliefs and sabotaging strategies is a powerful process. This group of teenagers are ready to leave these behind and move into creating core beliefs that serve them. 🔥🔥🔥

As we are soon approaching our next workshop, I look back and reflect upon the awesome teenagers that have come through and their parents who have taken a leap of faith and enrolled them in our workshop. As parents we all know these workshops would be great for our kids, but what makes us put everything else aside for a couple of days and put them first?

Review of our teen workshop from a parent
My husband and I enrolled our very unwilling 15 year old son in the Young Lives Defined Workshop in December 2021.
He had walls up with us throughout the whole workshop, however glimmers of a changing young man kept popping through all weekend....regardless of how much he tried to stay having the hates on us for sending him!
Right from the first moment we walked into the room, Rachel and Davin and their team managed to wheel our boy around into feeling comfortable and welcome, never once making him feel or look stupid for being so resistant.
How life has changed for us since the workshop?
* We can discuss issues as a family without the full blown argument that used to follow
* We can both have a sympathetic ear
* He is a confident young man in the person that is truly him without trying to be someone else with others
* He now has an understanding of who he is and why he does things
* He is able to be compassionate
* He doesn't sit behind his own walls if things don't go to plan. He can work through the emotions and move on without filling himself with resentment for days
* He demonstrates the meaning of give and take
The program was so rewarding for him and us as a whole family that I would recommend it to any parent or teenager. Rachel and Davin have a special gift and we can't thank them enough.
Even if you don't have any problems with your teenager, it is such a confidence builder for them and allows them to have a deep look at who they are and learn how to cope in today's world.

We are reducing the price of our Transformational Teenage Workshop by $200!

🙌🙌While we believe it is already great value for money, we wish to make it available to more people and recognise that the financial situation for some is tough at the moment.
💥💥We would love to work with your teenagers in the upcoming workshop and know we can help them make sense of their lives to create a clearer future.

22/02/2023

💥💥At our upcoming Transformational Workshop for Teens we explore how limiting core beliefs can affect our lives. As little people we have experiences that mould our beliefs about ourselves and they stick with us into our teens and adulthood.
❤️❤️Core beliefs such as “I’m not good enough”, “I’m not worthy”, “I’m dumb”, “I’m unlovable” and “I am not talented”, play a part in our daily lives.
🙇‍♀️🙇They restrict us from having a full and happy life. Teenagers find it hard to maintain friendships, keep up with schoolwork, manage sport and other commitments if they have limiting core beliefs in the forefront of every decision they are making.
🔑🔑At our workshop, the teenagers discover these limiting core beliefs and go through a process to identify where it shows up in their lives. They come to the realisation that they can make new belief systems and choose a vision for their future self!
