Christmas is a time to connect with love ones for many of us that involves travel…

In the south east corner they get freeways and overpasses, in the north we get GOAT TRACKS.

Federal and State bureaucrats cause paralysis by analysis… nothing gets done in the north without years and years of ‘planning’ causing cost-blowouts and half-arsed projects that deliver a fraction of what was first promised.

Examples include:

🌁 HIPCO Dam, Hughenden - promised
and in planning for the last 7 plus years

🔌. Powerline from Townsville to Mt Isa -
promised and in planning for the last 10
plus years

🛣️. Palmerston Range Roadworks -
continuing with one lane traffic since
Cyclone Jasper December 2023

🛣️. Kuranda Range roadworks -
continuing with one lane traffic since
Cyclone Jasper December 2023

🛣️. Gairloch & Seymour, Bruce Highway
flood proofing - in planning for over 4
years

🛣️. Mt Spec Rd, Paluma - closed since
Ingham floods in Jan 2025.

BOB goes into the trenches and fights for every scrap of money for these projects. Yet that same money is wasted by a bureaucracy soooo drunk on power and addicted to approval processes that prices skyrocket, timeframes fly out the window and we only get a faction of what was promised (if anything at all).

BOB THE BUILDER is fed-up!!! He’s firing- up the bulldozers, ignoring the woke Brisbane bureaucrats and getting started on these long-overdue projects.

THIS CHRISTMAS I URGE ALL BUREAUCRATS TO REFLECT ON THE HUGE AMOUNTS OF TAXPAYER MONEY THEY ARE WASTING. THEY MUST GET ON AND DO THE JOB OF ACTUALLY DELIVERING A ‘PUBLIC SERVICE’ OR FIND ANOTHER LINE OF WORK!!!!!

The End Of An Era

For almost 140 years the Griffiths Family has loved and cared for the Charters Towers community, but next week Griffiths Pharmacy will be trusted to new hands, and while it ends a remarkable legacy it also begins a new chapter.

After much soul-searching Anne and I have chosen to stand aside to spend precious time with our growing brood of grand babies.

It’s bittersweet as our 40 years in our Gill Street Pharmacy has been filled with countless rewarding moments. We have cherished the relationships built and the trust you have placed in us over the years.

It’s been a great privilege to be a part of your lives and health journey. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank each one of you for your loyalty and unwavering support down through the years.

We will miss the chats and the friendship but it’s time for Anne and I to embark on a new journey. Family as you know is everything and its time for us to put ours first.

We’d love to acknowledge and thank our wonderful staff past and present whose loyalty and help we appreciate very much. It wouldn’t have been possible without you.

As of next Tuesday, new owner Lauren Mcarthy will open the doors. Lauren has not only worked alongside us in the pharmacy but has a wealth of experience and is committed to continuing the Griffiths family’s long-standing tradition of exceptional care.

We have no doubt she shares our family’s dedication and commitment to health and providing hands on care and compassion when needed the most.

We look forward to seeing you in the coming weeks and having the chance to thank you in person
