Hello, spring sunshine! 🌤️
As the blossoms arrive, we’re loving this little throwback to a rainy but joy-filled Friendship Day celebrations.

Despite the weather, Scalabrini Bexley welcomed friends from Scalabrini Austral for a day of colour, music and connection. Balloons and handmade placemats, beautiful cards made by Bexley residents, and lots of smiles. We sang and danced (percussion included 🎶), shared a delicious lunch (clean plates all round!), belted out karaoke with residents, staff and families, and wrapped up with afternoon tea and live music.

Thank you to the Bexley team for every thoughtful detail. Rain or shine, friendship always finds the light. 💛

Scalabrini Communities has been proud to host three nursing interns along with their supervisor, Professor, Dr. Chi-Ling Wu from Chung-Jen Junior College of Nursing, Health Sciences and Management, Taiwan at The Village by Scalabrini, Drummoyne through our 4-week Comprehensive Clinical Internship for Nursing; building skills, cultural exchange and future workforce pathways. 🇹🇼 🇦🇺

As CEO notes, this program keeps us close to international practice and creates avenues for graduates to return via our Labour Agreement.

Harbourside on Lyons Road, Drummoyne has received State Significant Development consent from NSW Planning and Environment . It is a milestone shaped by genuine collaboration with the City of Canada Bay Council and our community.

The project will deliver next-generation Independent Living Units (ILUs), welcoming community spaces and improved public access to the waterfront. As CEO, Richard de Haast puts it, “a partnership that will serve Drummoyne for generations.”

Lots of flavour today at Scalabrini Communities. 🇮🇳🇮🇹
Two celebrations, one community: Indian Independence Day & Ferragosto across our Scalabrini villages. Our chefs fired up the ovens for live, oven baked pizzas at Chipping Norton, while other kitchens across our sites served up delicious Indian and Italian favourites; bringing colour, music and memories to the table.

Here’s to our residents and team members who make Scalabrini a place where everyone belongs. Thanks to our Service & Wellbeing teams for making it a wonderful Friday.

Proud moment for our Scalabrini Bexley family! We’re honoured to receive this Certificate of Appreciation from Moorefield Girls High School, recognising our work through the Youth Services Program and MWLP. 🌟

Since November 2023, Scalabrini Bexley has been welcoming students from 15+ local high schools to learn alongside our carers, cooks, allied health, admin, and wellbeing teams. It’s about breaking stereotypes, building skills, and creating special intergenerational moments our residents truly love.

A huge thank you to Moorefield Girls High School for their recognition and to all the students who bring curiosity, energy, and kindness into our community each week. 👏

Yesterday we celebrated across Scalabrini Villages, and what a day! 🎊
Highlights included a resident look-alike costume competition at Bexley and a lively photobooth party at Chipping Norton.

Our CEO, Richard de Haast shared it best: “We are privileged to walk alongside older adults… Thank you for bringing your skill, passion and whole selves to work every day.”

Built a memory one brick at a time at Scalabrini Chipping Norton!

As a part of weekly wellbeing activities, our residents were engaged in the LEGOs session. LEGOs offer various benefits for older adults, including stress reduction, enhanced cognitive function, and increased social interaction. The repetitive and engaging nature of building can be calming and provide a mental break, while spatial reasoning and problem-solving skills are stimulated. Not to mention, LEGOs can facilitate social connections through collaborative building or participation.

When Q Station, Manly was too drenched to dock, we swapped tunnels for town. No rain check here! ☔️

It just so happens to be our Social Manager, Anna Wilson’s birthday and she chose to celebrate by treating our Live Easy Social community to a city adventure! 🥳
We spent the day:
- Marvelling at art in The Art Gallery
- Snapping selfies around Circular Quay
- Refuelling with lunch at The Terrace
