Love the idea of private practice, but not the risk of doing it alone?
The Child Health Collective is a child‑focused clinical home for paediatric allied health practitioners who want autonomy and support.

You run your own practice.
We provide the community, infrastructure and support referrals that make it sustainable.
This is not room rental.
It’s a professional ecosystem.

If you’re a paediatric health / allied health practitioner (e.g. OT, psychologist, paediatrician, dietitian) exploring what’s next, let's have a conversation.

Our Quarterly Cuddle happened last week at North Shore Speech Therapy. A team development day focussed around clinical confidence, diagnostics, Dyslexia, the NCCD, Medicare updates and importantly, team building and meaningful connection 🤝
We are so grateful for our incredible NSST family
for the curiosity you bring to learning,
the care you give to families,
and the joy and enthusiasm you show up with every single time 💛

The first few years in speech pathology are hard. Not because you are not good enough. Because the gap between university and a full paediatric caseload is real, and not every workplace helps you close it.

At North Shore Speech Therapy, mentoring is not something that gets squeezed in when there is time. It is built into how we work. Every clinician participates in weekly individual and group supervision. There are dedicated professional development days, regular team meetings, and full training in areas like neurodiverse affirming practice, school-aged language and literacy, AAC, feeding, and early language. You are not expected to figure it out alone.

If you are a speech pathologist who wants to keep learning, work with a team that genuinely cares, and build a career you are proud of, we would love to hear from you.

Not all stutters sound the same… 💬 You might notice repetitions (b-b-ball), prolongations (ssssun), or blocks (when no sound comes out at all).

While many toddlers go through a phase of dysfluency, it’s worth seeking support if it lasts longer than 6 months, or you’re noticing tension, frustration, or avoidance when speaking.

Early support can make a big difference, and gives you clarity on what’s typical and what’s not.

We have current availability if you would like to book a consultation with one of our experts 💛

Appreciation post for our Clinical Lead, Training & Development, Clare Hollings! Clare brings over 30 years’ experience as a speech pathologist, and alongside her clinical work, plays a key role in shaping clinical excellence at NSST and beyond. She provides clinical supervision and mentoring, leads professional development and training, and coordinates the NSST student program. She is also a casual lecturer at the University of Technology Sydney, regularly presents at conferences nationally and internationally, delivers training workshops to parents and educators, and is the co‑lead of the Student Liaison portfolio for the NSW/ACT branch of Speech Pathology Australia.

We're so grateful to have her as a shining light in the NSST family 💛

Most of us walk into parent-teacher interviews with "how are they going?" in mind. These questions go a little deeper, and they can open up conversations that really matter.

Save this one before you go in. 👇

Questions to ask:
How are they managing multi-step instructions?
How are their narrative skills?
Do they participate confidently in class?
Are their literacy foundations on track?
Are there any social communication moments that stand out?

If something comes up in the interview and you are not sure what to do next, a speech pathologist can help you make sense of it. No referral needed to get started.

💚 Save this post to take into your interview.
📤 Send it to a parent who has one coming up.
