Imagine being a parent, watching your child fall behind, struggle to make friends, or come home in tears — and not knowing why or what to do.

This is the daily reality for children with Developmental Language Disorder (DLD). It affects 1 in 14 kids — but it’s rarely talked about and often misunderstood.

North Shore Speech Therapy was founded by Lauren Reinhardt in 2001, because she never wanted a child to feel less than because of how they communicate. And we've seen first-hand the incredible progress these kids can make when they get the right support.

A Current Affair is shining a much-needed light on the impact of DLD — on children, families, and futures.
