πŸ“’ Don't miss our next ASUM Webinar!

Rheumatic heart disease remains a significant burden in many communities, and echocardiography is at the forefront of how we identify and respond to it.

Presented by Dr Lucy Law and moderated by Dr Jacqui Williamson, this webinar will cover the basics of acute rheumatic fever (ARF) and rheumatic heart disease (RHD) β€” what they are, how they develop, and what we're seeing in the numbers β€” plus how echo helps us spot and understand them in practice.

In February 2026, RAD-AID South Pacific Program Director, Jo McCann and Sonographer Volunteer, Penelope Wilkinson traveled to Vanuatu National Hospital in Port Vila, Vanuatu to deliver the second workshop in the Certificate in Fundamental Ultrasound (CFU) programme.

RAD-AID thanks the Pasifika Medical Association (PMA) for their support in this volunteer trip.

β€œA wide range of ultrasound examinations was performed, consistent with the expected general workload at the facility.

Notable improvement in the local team's technique and systematic assessment of biliary structures was observed compared to approximately six months prior, reflecting good skill retention and ongoing development between visits.”
