Feeding and latching can be a deep rabbit hole we explore with mummad and bubbas.

Gentle bodywork can be really helpful with feeding and latching 💜

This exercise here is a super quick one to help get your bubbas jaw moving well for feeding.
We combine exercises, like this one, along with treatment through the back, neck and the base of skull to help with feeding and latching. We will also assess for any oral ties and work with your lactation consultant to help your feeding journey. Because it takes village to raise these bubbas and the right help from the right people in your village can make allllll the difference 💜💜💜

Adding some variety to your babies play surface can really help your little one explore new positions and therefore assist in learning new skills.

Supervised elevated play (by using your legs, soft play equipment, couch seat cushions, boxes etc) is one of our favourite recommendations to assist with the progression of crawling and pulling up on to knees.

It also adds a new element to floor time which is just as engaging for bubs as it is for you as the parent 👶🏻

This is one exercise we prescribed a lot with bubbas who present to our clinic who are unsettled.
Unsettled can be caused by many different reasons. We look at
👶 your birthing process. Were any forceps, vontouse used. Did they get stuck.
👶 your feeding. Are we latching well. Are they taking in air. We assess for oral ties here and collaborate with your LC.
👶 tension in the middle back from either their position in utero or the birthing process... or both! Tightness can often be felt and when we work through here, we see an improvement in symptoms quite quickly.
👶 your bubbas gut. We ask lotsbof questions here! The microbiome takes 2 years to double in size- same as the brain. Supporting the gut as it diversifies to help get that wind moving is really helpful.

National Red Nose Day 👶🏻

Such an important charity to raise funds and awareness for SIDS and stillbirth in order to help protect little lives.

Since its inception they have raised $18 million, saving 12,069 babies and reducing sudden infant deaths by 80%.

Any donation is helpful to this brilliant cause in order to support little ones and their families ❤️

At TBHC we get asked a lot of questions in regards to returning to exercise after giving birth. These are the main things I like to talk about in regards to this topic:

-”Listen to your body”

-Invest in a well supporting bra

-Wear supportive footwear

-Have an awareness about how your pelvic floor and core stability is functioning post birth

-The use of compression shorts/leggings or tubi grip can be used to help with support through the abdominal, low back and pelvic region
