GOLF IS NOT A GAME OF PERFECT

Is the title of a book published in the 1990's by a gentleman named Bob Rotella. To put it basically, if you attempt to do everything perfectly you will end up frustrated, burnt out and probably worse off than when you started. It was probably summed up very well by an idol of mine, Ben Hogan when he said, "the guy who wins is the guy who misses it the best".

The same can be said for creating a body transformation. It's not about concentrating on the minutia. Ok, if you get to the point where the minutia matters good for you. For the majority of us though it's about ensuring we do the best we can in our given circumstances at the time. Making the best choices possible even if they are not as perfect as we would like. My journey has been like that. There have been numerous times where I have faced the choice of one option or another regarding my food and the options haven't been perfect for whatever reason. I chose the option that was closest to being the best one, even though it wasn't the perfect option.

The same thing for exercise. Occasionally you will sustain an injury. Don't use it as an excuse to slacken off and do nothing. Instead, say ok I can't do what I normally do, let's see what I can do. At least do something. At least by doing something you might end up starting to create something special.

It’s not just about barbells and dumbbells and moving as much weight as you can. Our own body weight, when used appropriately provides an amazingly intense workout. Ask him how much he loves this exercise!
