ADENOMYOSIS AWARENESS MONTH

Adenomyosis is a condition where tissue grows within the wall of the uterus, often leading to heavy periods, pelvic pain, and sometimes fertility challenges.

While it shares similarities with endometriosis, adenomyosis occurs within the uterine wall and can also exist alongside it.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, ongoing pelvic or period pain isn’t considered “normal”—it’s seen as a sign of imbalance within the body that can be supported. Approaches such as acupuncture, alongside practices like yoga and meditation, may help manage symptoms and improve overall wellbeing.

If you’re experiencing these symptoms, support is available.

Perimenopause is a natural stage of life, often beginning years before menopause, where shifting hormone levels can bring a variety of changes.

You might notice:
🌸 Irregular cycles
🌸 Hot flushes or night sweats
🌸 Sleep disturbances
🌸 Brain fog
🌸 Changes in mood

While this transition can feel overwhelming at times, you don’t have to navigate it alone.

Acupuncture offers a gentle, supportive approach to help your body find balance during this time, especially when combined with care from a trusted health professional.

To those who are new here—welcome, and thank you for your support. It truly means a lot.

You may notice that I don’t “follow” accounts back, and I just wanted to gently explain why. As a registered healthcare professional, I’m required to follow guidelines set by our regulatory body, which means I’m unable to follow patients (or potential patients) on social media. This helps protect your privacy and maintain appropriate professional boundaries.

I’m so grateful to have you here as part of this community—thank you for your understanding and support.

March is Endometriosis Awareness Month. Endometriosis is a painful condition that can feel overwhelming to navigate, but support is available.

Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine have been shown to assist with reducing pelvic pain, along with improving overall quality of life. Finding what works for your endo flares and keeping your pain levels controlled is a journey, but Acupuncture could be the missing puzzle piece for you.

March is Sleep Awareness Month. According to the Sleep Health Foundation 50% of Australians aren’t getting enough restorative sleep. A 2017 study found the impact of inadequate sleep led to a $66.3 billion per year loss to the Australian economy from health costs and loss of productivity.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, insomnia can be attributed to different patterns of dysfunction in the body (deficiency, excess and disharmony) which affects our ability to fall asleep and stay asleep. A new review of research found high quality evidence to support the use of acupuncture for insomnia with significant improvements in anxiety and depression also noted.

Moxibustion in Traditional Chinese Medicine 🤍

Moxibustion is a traditional therapy used in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for thousands of years. It involves the gentle warming of specific acupuncture points using dried mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris), helping to support the body’s natural healing processes.

In TCM, moxibustion is used to:
✨ Warm and strengthen the body
✨ Support circulation and the flow of Qi
✨ Ease pain and stiffness
✨ Support digestion, immunity and energy levels
✨ Assist in pregnancy care, including breech presentation when appropriate

Historically, moxibustion was often used alongside acupuncture to restore balance, particularly in conditions associated with cold, stagnation or deficiency.

Gentle, grounding and deeply supportive, moxibustion continues to be a valued therapy in modern practice — blending ancient wisdom with contemporary care.
