Meet Dr Kylie Skillen
Doctor of Acupuncture (BHsc)

Kylie’s complementary medicine journey started 30 years ago when her finance job sent her on a health retreat where she experienced a wide range of natural therapies. After this life changing experience, she began to study anything to do with natural medicine, with qualifications in massage, acupuncture, yoga teaching and yoga therapy. She was drawn to acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine after experiencing its positive effects with her own health and found it supported her body’s healing capacity and increased mental/physical well-being. Kylie’s acupuncture treatments are tailored to the individual and may include needling, cupping, moxibustion, Chinese herbal formulas, breath work and stretches based on your needs. Her special interests include acupuncture for fertility (pre-conception, IVF/IUI support); menopause and pregnancy related symptoms; stress and emotional issues (anxiety/depression); autoimmune disorders and pain management (acute & chronic). She is a mother, book reader, food lover and dog mum who enjoys wide open spaces on her rural property. Education and Certifications
Kylie has a Bachelor of Health Science (Acupuncture), is an accredited member of the Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association (AACMA), and is a registered practitioner under the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Authority (AHPRA).

Do you struggle with frequent migraines or headaches? You’re certainly not alone. A new survey by Jean Hailes for Women’s Health and Migraine & Headache Australia found that 1 in 3 Australian women experience regular migraines - a significant increase from the previously reported 1 in 5.

The good news is that acupuncture may offer relief. Recent research reviews show growing evidence that acupuncture can help prevent migraines, often with fewer side effects than many conventional treatments. If you’re looking for a gentle, supportive and preventative approach, acupuncture could be a valuable option for your wellbeing.

💥ENDOMETRIOSIS DIAGNOSTIC BREAKTHROUGHS 💥
There have been some exciting developments in the way endometriosis may be diagnosed — offering hope for quicker, less invasive answers for many women.

New Australian research has trialled a cost-effective blood test with strong predictive accuracy, suggesting that in the future, diagnosis may be possible through a simple GP consultation rather than surgery.

Another global study has taken a different approach, analysing menstrual blood to isolate stem cells (MenSCs). Researchers found these cells play a key role in forming endometriosis lesions, and the test demonstrated an impressive 81% accuracy in identifying and categorising endometriosis.

While laparoscopy remains the current gold standard, these breakthroughs point toward a future where diagnosis could become faster, easier and far less invasive.

If you experience painful periods, acupuncture may help. Traditional Chinese Medicine has a long history of supporting menstrual health — from reducing period pain (including dysmenorrhoea and endometriosis), to easing cycle-related mood changes (PMT, PMDD), and regulating irregular or heavy periods.

If you’re curious about whether acupuncture could support your symptoms, I’m here to help. Book via link in bio ⬆️
